Chris Graybill & Adam Gorightly are launching a Kickstarter for the Blu-Ray edition of their amazing docu Saucers, Spooks & Kooks, which was based on Adam's book which Daily Grail Publishing released several years ago. Saucers, Spooks & Kooks is required viewing for any serious #UFO enthusiast

Thanks Rick! Jeremy's book is on my birthday/Christmas list. I was fascinated with the overlaps with both Tim Renner's finding of hidden treasure lore near Bigfoot sightings and Adam Sayne observing of magical thinking in modern day treasure hunting communities looking for e.g. Jesse James' gold.

Good lord! It’s the 89th anniversary of the sighting of an ACTUAL SEA MONSTER off Nantucket. We know it was true because it got in the papers... 🧵
Old newspaper cutting: Sea Monster Leaves Fisherman pop-eyed – NANTUCKET, Mass., Aug. 7 (UP). – The 1937 sea serpent and marine monster season was officially open today. Fisherman Bill Manville came in here, pop-eyed at what he said he had seen a couple of miles south-east of this island. In Bill’s own words it was [a] green sea monster – which reared its head several times off his starboard bow before turning seaward.

Thanks Rick very interesting episode. I note that the theme of turning away from the internet, embedding yourself in the landscape is one that keeps on cropping up at the moment.

I’m not dead. I sleep sometimes. Sleep comes very close to death, everyone knows that. The dead walk in dreams, everyone knows that. They come to you alive, and they say things. They walk out of death into the dreams.

Interesting chat. Something I've noticed recently is the flipping in a large part of the public mind of the traditional roles where the internet is seen as reality and offline meat-space is just a place you film your content in. Certainly parallels with my understanding of Gnosticism. Thanks Rick!

Wow, there was a lot in this one. I was struck by how your UFO theory is similar to my, lightly held, Bigfoot theory that the creature is a product of the collective imaginings of the organisms that make up the forest and if you enter that environment at the right time you encounter their dreams.

Fortuitous timing for me with this conversation as I've been listening to a lot of Jungian dream analysis leading me to wonder whether, as you raised in the episode, we should think about an experience like a Bigfoot encounter as if it had a hidden message to deliver like a dream might. Thanks Rick!

Also your mention of automatic writing for poetry reminded me The Odyssey, foundational text of Western culture that we're going to have to listen to dumb arguments about this summer, starts with an invocation to the muse to speak/sing through the author. Should we consider it as a channeled text?

Thanks AP. Wacky cults seem less fun when you get to the almost inevitable sexual abuse and trauma. I did like the idea of being trained in channelling. It's an under explored area, even as the Estes Method gets popular, which is just a fancy form of it. Now wondering if I could find a trainer?

While John didn't seem to be a fan of the genre it's hard to think about Houdini and HP Lovecraft and the Psychic Mafia all in the same place and time and not come up with pitches for speculative HBO dramas that largely have no basis in reality.
