Troy Jackson responds: “This is corruption of the highest order. Susan Collins delivered millions in taxpayer dollars for a corrupt donor bankrolling her campaign, & then Donald Trump helped her cover it up. No wonder she voted with him 96% of the time & has rubberstamped his agenda to hurt Maine.”

This is not how the Purcell Principle works nor is it descriptive of how SCOTUS has behaved (they have stayed federal rulings an umber of times on election eve.) Purcell applies to federal court intervention, not state court actions. Purcell cuts 1 way- staying the federal TRO.

The Trump administration has filed 36 emergency applications since last February, which have generated 31 conclusive rulings. In those 31 rulings, the Court has voted *for* Trump in whole or in part 27 times (87.1%), and against him four times (12.9%). Here's a chart covering all of these rulings:
A (messy) Excel spreadsheet tracking all of the Trump administration's emergency applications, when they were filed, when they were decided, what kind of ruling they produced, and how each justice voted.

Folks: I don't really care whether making an object lesson of the White House crime scene will stop it or whether Roberts was being genuine. This is an INCREDIBLY salient political opportunity, bc people hate seeing Trump destroy the White House.

The chances are quite good that the "number three" at DOJ who ordered Jim Comey to be illegally surveilled was Third Circuit judge Emil Bove. (He was nominated days later.) storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...
6. The following morning, the Secret Service submitted an emergency request to
Verizon in which an agent represented that such surveillance “relate[d] to an emergency involving
danger of death or serious physical injury to a person, necessitating disclosure without delay of
information relating to that emergency.” Ex. E. [013475-77] The Secret Service agent who
completed the form signed an attestation stating: “I certify that the foregoing is true and correct
and understand that Verizon may rely upon this form to make an emergency disclosure to my law
enforcement agency … pursuant to 18 U.S.C. 2702(b)(8) or 2702(c)(4).” Id. The declarant
advised the ATSAIC that he “was asked by the SAIC to ping the cellphone of James Comey via
exigency.” Ex. D. [013417] He further added that he did so “with hesitation.” Id. The same
document indicates that an Assistant Special Agent in Charge (“ASAIC”) reported that “the # 3
guy at DOJ ‘wanted to ping the cellphone via an exigency request.’”3
 Id.
7. Secret Service case records provided in discovery show that Mr. Comey’s cell
phone was electronically tracked that day as he and his wife drove north on Interstate 95 (“I-95”)
from North Carolina toward his Virginia home. The Comeys were also physically surveilled
during the trip, but trailing agents lost contact when the Comeys exited I-95 at one point to drive
toward the cemetery where the Comeys’ son is buried. The electronic surveillance captured the
trip to the cemetery. (The Government later seized—pursuant to the challenged March 2026

Among lots of things that are striking about Kavanaugh's opinion in the birthright citizenship case is the totally unnecessary dissent on the constitutional question. He could've just concurred in the judgment on the statutory question *without* discussing the 14A, but went out of his way to do so.

Kavanaugh is not only dishonest, he's incredibly stupid. He posits that a Consitutional amendment can itself be amended by changing circumstance. While at the same time arguing the Second Amendment is inviolable.

It's going to be a spoils system for "independent agencies." In his concurrence, Gorsuch made much of the fact that Humphrey was a politician, and certainly that was true. But independent agencies are not a spoils system now. But they will be going forward

There's no sugar-coating Slaughter. It's an enormously important ruling (far more important than the other three decisions #SCOTUS handed down today). It's a huge win for Trump/the executive. And it's going to have massive ramifications for the functioning of the government long after Trump is gone.
