Whatever evil(s) you think AI is responsible for were long ongoing well before CEOs started pushing it. If it seems like there's no regs, it is because only corps could break those laws, and AI as a tool allows small teams and budgets to do things previously exclusive to corps, including crimes.

LRP isn't about gen AI, but it really hits why the tech has been allowed to become a cultural flashpoint: The grasping Sillicon Valley shits pushing it don't have to care if a small -- or even large -- subset of the population hates it as long as legislation doesn't take the tech FROM THEM.

I think the Clean Air Act *probably* preempts a lot if not all of state regulations. I think the problem is that the Clean Air Act is not properly enforced, and never when Republicans are in charge. I think it's *probably* legally correct that only the feds can regulate b/c pollution is interstate.

I honestly expected less subtlety than I got. Not that it is a remotely subtle film, just that it is so fucking densely packed with Meaning and Intentionality on for at least three levels in either direction from the 4th wall that I'm not sure it's possible to catch it all first watch.

(Complimentary) Digger was the most excruciating and nauseating film-going experience I have ever had in my life. I completely get why it got such mixed-to-negative reviews -- even if you like a bad time in a film, that movie is a Bad Time. (I cannot stress enough that this is all complimentary.)
