Then you start to grow up and you get older and life shapes and reshapes you and the music you loved evolves with you. You understand it in a different way. You appreciate it a little more. His humor was offbeat, the stories fantastical & weird. There was laughter to be found but also wisdom. Some of the most poignant but unconventional wisdom. I carry a lot of it with me today, probably always will. Some of it had changed meaning for me over the years but I cherish it all the same(2)

Tom Robbins passed away on Sunday. A fellow Richmonder. He was one of my favorite authors and wrote my favorite book, "Still Life With Woodpecker". I came to discover him at fourteen year old--maybe not the target audience for his books but they resonated deeply. Still Life in particular. (1)
