And just because it's kind of required these days, I do have one talk involving AI: Designing Software for Agentic Development. This one is definitely a moving target as things are changing rapidly. I expect to be updating things right up until the talk starts. Which is TOTALLY out of character 🤣

It does, and there’s a spectrum from autocomplete to OG copilot filling in a whole method when you’d only typed its name or a comment, to full agent-generated files that are created or modified without any human looking on in an editor. So, some of the activities must necessarily account for this.

USPS is actually generally pretty good. Despite efforts by some to kill it so they can make money off of the delivery business. But I’ve totally seen UPS and other carriers stop on the side of the road at my driveway, sit a moment, decide “nah it’s 🌧️ or 🌨️”, and then drive off. “Attempted delivery”

They’re two sides of the same coin, though, and I suspect all the players will try all of these approaches in attempts to sell their products (which by and large are still not profitable).

I learned some things about English (after years of speaking/writing it natively and years of classes) by taking German in high school. Things that had been just implicit (to me) were laid out explicitly as the second language and its rules were described and taught. Always learning.

Don't be fooled into thinking that a "free market" only exists when corporations get to "self-regulate" and do whatever they want. And don't be led to think that the government is "intruding" into the market when it crafts laws to protect the public. The real issue is power — and who has it.
