In this portrait format photo there is a water mill to see in the top of the photo embedded in groups of trees. The stream flowing in front of it leads through the whole photo to the foreground, where you can see a colourful leaf on a mossy rock. It is a rainy day, which makes the colours of moss and and leaves more intense. A longer shutter time gives the water a creamy look, but the flow of the water and its textures are visible.

I learnt a new word today: graupel, a cross between snow and hail - tiny soft balls of snow! Graupel fell on the beach at Stokksnes last night, and the waves continued to come in and made nice squiggly patterns. #Iceland
