Very much enjoying this album at present. One of the most classy tributes to Coltrane’s music this year.

I think the most important news from history today is that it’s the 39th anniversary of the (US) release of The Princess Bride—and what better way to mark the day than remind ourselves of Cary Elwes’ story about André the Giant and the enormous, life-altering, earth-shaking fart?

Improving your Monday morning with this Bearded Tit. You are welcome. 📷️ @ronpon22.bsky.social
A Bearded Tit stands on a mossy branch, its feathers puffed up into a perfectly round ball. Its warm buff-coloured plumage, pale face and tiny orange bill give it an irresistibly fluffy appearance, while one foot is lifted mid-step as though it's waddling along.

Only 13 percent of women can comfortably span an octave on a standard piano. Few thought to ask whether the piano was the problem.

An orange Penguin Classics book cover for "Chocolat" by Joanne Harris. The usual penguin logo has been replaced by an actual McVitie's penguin biscuit. Before any pedants choose to enlighten me to the fact that Penguin biscuits can no longer be classified as chocolate, I'll let you in on a little secret: I already know and I don't fucking care.

‘Wild Flowers of Late Summer and Autumn’ by M de Sausmarez (not a Ladybird artist but I’m allowed the odd day off)
An illustration serving as an identification guide, showing a pastoral scene with numerous plants and insects captured in one. The plants and small creatures are labelled with small text under the drawings which somehow does not detract from the overall appeal of the illustration.
