I'm increasingly of the opinion that the ability for any single person to own productive, tangible properties all over the world is one of the largest perversions of property law at the same time, I need any and all (incl. international) infrastructure to be publicly owned by the people they affect

Reuters got some of the IPO docs. Anthropic is a total dog of a company. Spent $12.6bn to make $4.6bn in revenue in 2025, $7.33bn of which was compute costs. Operating loss of $8bn. Losses getting worse year over year. Amazing stuff www.reuters.com/business/fin...
Summary
Companies
• Anthropic IPO could value the company at more than $2
trillion
• Anthropic lost $42 billion in 2025
• Al lab spent $7.33 billion on compute and infrastructure last year
• Operating loss widened to $8.06 billion in 2025 from $2.98 billion in 2024
• Execs, industry analysts have expressed concerns over harms of Al tech
Sept 28 (Reuters) - Anthropic is making a massive bet that Al will transform the global economy more profoundly than industrialization, electricity and the internet, according to its IPO prospectus seen by Reuters.
But the cost to get there will be staggering. Anthropic reported a net loss of $42 billion in 2025, and plans to spend $518 billion on cloud, computing and infrastructure obligations in coming year, according to the
prospectus.

counterintuitively, any optimizing technology is fundamentally anti-productivity (if productivity is defined as $/time) in other words, they all shrink the economy including gen"AI", to the extent that it actually saves anyone time

www.rockpapershotgun.com/single-playe... if you live in the EU, talk to your MEPs about it "age verification" = identity verification verifying someone's identity just to let them receive a game update or buy games online is insane #gamedev #EU

Single player games might require age verification if they use Steam under EU Kids Act's current draft, according to MEP's senior policy adviser
The EU Kids Act's current draft could see single player games subjected to age verification because they need Steam for updates.

at the end of the day, Carney is just another brainrotted neolib who thinks that privatization is the answer to every problem "private investment" = a part of the revenue is given to the ultra rich people and the banks I hope the people over there deservedly grind his ass into dust for this move

recently realized that we're not very far from UBI already there's minimum wage, pensions, unemployment benefits, disability benefits, child benefits/tax deductions etc. the main difference is whether the people who don't do anything despite being able to should still receive money

it's important to see this counterforce for what it is - a temporary solution "regular capitalism" inevitably leads to "apocalypse capitalism" the problem with capitalism is the private ownership part - it has government-supported concentration of wealth and power built into it as a core principle

I feel like we should have more/better terms for defining different types of rent (as in payment for using something) e.g. "parasitic rent" - where economic rent + interest on capital + risk exceeds the remainder in the total price of rent

One possible redesign for the 5€ banknote, with a wallcreeper.A possible redesign for the 20€, this time with a color illustration in vertical of an European bee-eater.Also in a vertical format, a possible redesign for the 50€ banknote with a white stork.Another possible redesign for the 50€ banknote (my favorite option), also featuring the white stork.
