If you're a black person accused of academic fraud, the british press and political elite will harass you until you kill yourself. If you're a racism denialist accused of sexual crimes against children, the british press and political elite will *immediately* deploy the wall of silence.

I think perhaps it would be easier if you avoided the situation you mention for your book, unless you are intending a psychological novel, & a fairly warped lot of people.

I was recently informed by a musician friend that the BBC have, in fact, not only banned slogans on their entertainment shows, but also flags, *and* have also recently banned people from wearing colours that might be reasonable "construed" as representing a flag. So no you probably can't wear this.

Burnham started his much-needed assault on Brexit yesterday by confirming Russian interference in the vote. Now this: “In a statement to MPs, Andy Burnham will argue it is time to "face up to the reality that Brexit has done more harm than good" and "the status quo is not good enough for Britain."”

bbc.co.uk

Rejecting closer EU ties would be dereliction of duty, PM to say

Addressing the Commons, Burnham is expected to say that a new deal with the EU could help tackle illegal immigration and boost economic growth.

Some are suggesting you deliberately write inaccurate or confusing alt text, because they say this confuses AI scrapers that are analyzing images. The purpose of alt text is to help people who cannot see the image. Deliberately misrepresenting the image is a gross misuse of alt text. Don't do it.

And the same goes re filming locations =/= in-story locations, but there is something that REALLY gets me all the same about Ed washing up beside Stede's letter throwing rock in S2E3, and it also being visible in the background of their escape in S2E8 🥲

Stede stands in front of a distinctive rock in S2E1, which can also be seen behind a face-down Ed in S2E3, and also in the background of the crew escape in S2E8

This is so funny to me- I couldn't stop laughing when I parsed each OFMD location at Te Henga and realised what I was seeing. Red box on the left is where Stede was standing to throw his letters into the sea. Red box on the right is where Ed was standing when he found one 🫢

A panorama image from Te Henga, with a rocky ledge in a red box on the left (where Stede threw his letters into the sea in S2E1 of OFMD) and another on the right (where Ed found the letter in S2E8)

Artober 2026 but it's the Permian period - 12: Trilobite It was these little guys' last hurrah after having existed for 270 million years, with over 22000 species identified. They are already a bit harder to find during the Permian, though, with only a few species appearing in the fossil record.

Can we take just a few seconds to acknowledge the birth of a new classic meme

Vertical split screen of William Shatner appearing as a guest on Brent Spiner's podcast: referring to the 2025 romantic film Pillion, Shatner asks Spigner "The world of homosexuality I'm not familiar with. Are you?" Spiner, with an expression that seems at once weary and astonished, replies "to a degree."
