I can’t do a lot about much going on in the world, but with the shameful actions of my country’s leaders today, John Barbour’s poem THE BRUS has been on my mind. This is my translation of “A! Daly received fellowships for her graduate studies due to the need for scientists to support the war effort. Her work advanced our understanding of nucleic acids and protein synthesis. Watson and Crick cited one of Daly’s papers when accepting the Nobel Prize for describing the structure of DNA. /3
