April Fiet @aprilfiet.bsky.social · 01/09/2026I changed the paper towel roll in the women’s bathroom on the first try, so I’m basically unstoppable. #EveryDayImPastoring #churchlife 090

April Fiet @aprilfiet.bsky.social · 05/03/2026Jesus didn’t command his followers to overthrow Rome to usher in the kingdom of God. Jesus taught his followers to live as though the kingdom was already here, and to make it so wherever need is still found - to comfort the brokenhearted, feed the hungry, welcome the stranger. 0216
April Fiet @aprilfiet.bsky.social · 04/03/2026The book of Revelation is meant to reveal something to us about God. It is not meant to reveal some hidden plan about the fate of the United States. 3388
April Fiet @aprilfiet.bsky.social · 04/03/2026Fear-based theology seeks to control every aspect of a person's life. Love-based theology seeks to transform every aspect of a person's life. 1133
April Fiet @aprilfiet.bsky.social · 02/03/202612 - Grounded I walk the land where I find myself, and I notice the land thirsting for rain. It is dry, open, expansive, and waiting. Not unlike the deepest parts of my self. To be grounded is to know where one finds oneself, and to accept what one sees there as reality. #LentenSnapshots2026 061
April Fiet @aprilfiet.bsky.social · 01/03/202611 - Here Under the recliner Atticus speaks. “Hey, human,” he says, “I like it here.” #LentenSnapshots2026 1140
April Fiet @aprilfiet.bsky.social · 28/02/202610 - Darkness I recently read there’s a scientific theory that suggests even darkness contains light. I find that fascinating. What if it could be true that even in the places where no light seems to shine, the light is still present, but hidden? 250
April Fiet @aprilfiet.bsky.social · 26/02/20268 - Belief The things we believe about ourselves can either hold us back or set us free. I spent way too much of my life saying “I can’t do that.” “I’m not brave enough.” “I can’t do that by myself.” 161
April Fiet @aprilfiet.bsky.social · 25/02/20267 - Location Have you ever dipped your feet in old Jim Creek and let the water tell you its story? Did you listen as it whispered, "I haven't always flowed here. I used to carve a different path"? Would you have believed it had you heard? 130
April Fiet @aprilfiet.bsky.social · 24/02/20266 - Road I first realize that winter is on its way when my chickens stop laying eggs. They notice the shorter days and lack of light before I do. 150
April Fiet @aprilfiet.bsky.social · 23/02/20265 - Journey It’s amazing to think about the journey our food takes. These elderberries came from trees far from me. They were harvested and dried. They were shipped, and arrived at my doorstep, and then I took them on another adventure as I turned them into juice. #LentenSnapshots2026 160
April Fiet @aprilfiet.bsky.social · 22/02/20264 - Encounter I am amazed by the way an encounter can take me by surprise and teach me something new along the way. I immediately think of Atticus. Who knew what we would encounter when we heard noises in our attic? 180

April Fiet @aprilfiet.bsky.social · 20/02/20262 - See At our Ash Wednesday service, we were invited to lay down our heavy longings. We wrote them on stones and then offered them to God. I flipped these upside down to protect the privacy of the people who offered them. 1131
April Fiet @aprilfiet.bsky.social · 18/02/20261 - Come I worry about the daffodils more than they do. I second guess their arrival, while they simply break forth. I hold my breath and wonder, “Is it too soon?” The daffodils don’t ask if it’s time, they just show up. 1163

April Fiet @aprilfiet.bsky.social · 22/12/2025One of my favorite Christmas memories from childhood is when my parents decided to cut out the stress of a big dinner and make what everyone in our house liked: tacos. Sometimes the standards we are holding ourselves to are life-sucking rather than life-giving. 2191
April Fiet @aprilfiet.bsky.social · 05/12/2025This microwave peanut brittle is my go-to recipe every Christmas. Thanks for the recipe, King Arthur Baking Company! 2150

April Fiet @aprilfiet.bsky.social · 21/11/2025The kernels of strawberry popcorn are super sharp. Pulling the kernels off the cobs shredded my hands, but I’m super excited about how much we got. There’s something so satisfying about growing things yourself. 1181

April Fiet @aprilfiet.bsky.social · 18/11/2025We have grown other varieties of popcorn before and had no success with the kernels actually popping. It worked this time! So excited! 0150

April Fiet @aprilfiet.bsky.social · 04/11/2025Woke up this morning to my fridge on the fritz, and I got pulled over for a broken taillight while I was on my way to the place to get it fixed. Happy Tuesday that thinks it’s a Monday to all who celebrate! 3120
April Fiet @aprilfiet.bsky.social · 02/11/2025While on our walk, a tree was overwhelmed with chaotic chirping, tweeting, and rustling. It sounded like the tree was alive. Suddenly, a blue jay flew into the mix while squawking loudly. All the chirping stopped. Who knew blue jays were community noise ordinance enforcers? 040

April Fiet @aprilfiet.bsky.social · 23/10/2025I’ve heard it said the only constant in life is change. I choose to believe that, while we can’t control everything that happens, we can still choose to work for positive change. 091
April Fiet @aprilfiet.bsky.social · 23/10/2025For anyone cheering the downfall of government helping programs and saying, “Churches and food pantries need to step up.” I agree we do need to step up. And we’re taking volunteers. 1101
