It’s admitting facts, though. I wish responses to this could be just “forbid” or “force” in something, but this usually fixes only some consequences for some time

And it would not be only immigrants' stories, but the rise of domestic violence stories, where we have overfilled female shelters in Germany, declining overall economic stability, and poverty. Tensions are growing, and psychological stability decreases, leading to radical forms.

Very sorry to hear about the tragedy at CSD in Berlin. Sad that these events forced me to start writing again and change the direction of my writing after months of thoughtful pause. I'm afraid we'll meet more similar events soon.

I think teenagers and even younger have access to any content so it would be questionable what's new we can show the them. I think they might grow different & faster in comparison to us, and could be a good opportunity for bonding and talk on adult topics

Easy! Continuous Integration are yaml files we are writing, modular design is using more than 3 folders for sources, refactoring is leftover from break what the time left after feature development feature and TDD... is a tricky one. Did you see anyone writing tests before code? Weird, not logical! 🤓

Reductionism searches for the root cause. But changing a single thing in one team can affect the other team in surprising ways. Holistic thinking reveals that there may be no single root, but cascading effects in which one problem triggers others, compounding until the system destabilizes.

Here’s the paradox: – Systems regularly face challenges they weren’t designed to handle – Yet we keep using reductionism—treating entities as just sums of parts while ignoring how those parts interact

– Are you part of the problem or the solution? – Both. – ...?? We’re all in the same system that created the problem. That’s the uncomfortable truth. But a good reminder for things we know

Only bad ideas with either a thin client (everything on backend) or a thick client (everything on frontend). Or a bit old-school: the backend serves the frontend with SSR together and keeps the logic (Old Web 2.0 Rails, Django). Maybe a bit of context why additional point of failure could be bad?

If new AI browsers can help get rid of pop-ups over pop-ups across the whole internet, it might be worth a shot. Or not. And have a good Monday! #ai

Thank you! I'll try to catch the already bought book. I see the implicit presupposition here that for good observation, we should know how systems work. E.g., we often discuss the element, which can bring more harm than usefulness if brought as a block. Or no one is talking about the learning.

In the Toyota Production System, when workers observed a problem, they stopped the entire conveyor until they resolved the issue. It's contrintuitive, but no, please slow down to speed up sustainably.

Alex, software engineering is not the traffic. Definitely true, but it's an obvious model demonstrating queue theory. Especially things that increase traffic by 10% from the normal flow can lead to rush hour.

Alexander Ptakhin @aptakhin.name · 22/09/2025
99 percent of problems in road traffic can be solved by brakes. Not by fast reaction, and wow, look how the driver made a heroic maneuver. What are we doing in tech? We are trying to solve all local issues by speeding up.

But I think even in this case there is a +1 local environment to run and test frontend things uncovered by tests with backend. I think it's also can be named environment, because of the way it's running like local docker compose vs kubernetes or so on

Bad advices only. Should be the same caliber, and the same turret just with level 2 guns without rotating. Cons: worse loading and maintenance, worse ship balance because of very high armor. Pros: what a gunship 😂

Title: Soren Kierkegaard, 1843

Image: A three panel comic strip that shows Mr Kierkegaard saying
"Life can only be understood backwards" as he walks from right to left through the three frames (i.e. against the usual order in which these panels would be read)

A dog walks from left to right, saying: "But it must be lived forward"
