Happy Birthday to those who celebrate today. It’s me, I’m celebrating today! 🎂🎂🎂 Officially more than half a century on this space rock 🤘🏻✌🏻✊🏻
Selfie accidentally captured from a low angle, grinning broadly and looking off to the side. I’m wearing bright blue glasses, a light-colored blazer, and a blue-and-white checked shirt. Decorative hanging lights and the geometric panels of a high ceiling fill the background.

I finished my sweater, weaving in ends just before putting it on for an event! I love it. Details in alt text. #knitting #IMadeThis!
I’m outdoors in front of a red brick side of our house, smiling and flashing a peace sign while modeling my finished hand-knit Bibliophile 3 sweater by Alicia Plummer. The sweater is knit primarily in speckled grey madelinetosh Twist Light in Antique Moonstone, with three customized bright yellow stripes in madelinetosh Merino Light in Candlewick across the upper chest and sleeves. Although the pattern calls for DK-weight yarn, I used fingering-weight yarn held double. I also customized the sweater with twisted ribbing at the neckline, cuffs, and waist hem, including a narrow yellow accent at the bottom edge.

Um…well, this is extremely disturbing. I’m not sure I will finish it (about half thru) and…and…I have to finish it. I’m a liberal arts kid; I get what the book is actually about, and that is also extremely forking disturbing!
The cover of “Tender is the Flesh” by Agustina Bazterrica. There is a red outline of the half of the head of a bull on top with the image of a woman’s face from the nose down. The title Tender is the Flesh is in bold white text over the Red Bull. The author’s name is arranged in a stamp-like circle on the lower half, the human half, of the image. Near the lips is text reading Read by Joseph Balderama. There is white hype-text in the upper right corner reading “"This book will pull you in, take hold, and not let go until you reach the final page. Without a doubt, my favorite read of this year."

I’m loving this sweater and the progress I’m making so much. I only separated for sleeves last weekend. I’m thinking of finishing the last few rows of the cuffs and color with thinner bands of the yellow colorway. (I might need to because the grey will be running low!) what’re your thoughts?
An in-progress hand-knit Bibliophile 3 sweater by Alicia Plummer displayed on a dress form. The sweater is primarily a soft, speckled gray with three narrow golden-yellow stripes running horizontally across the upper chest and continuing around the short sleeves, a customization added to the original pattern. The gray yarn is madelinetosh Twist Light in the “Antique Moonglow” colorway, and the yellow is madelinetosh Merino Light in “Candlewick.” The neckline, sleeves, and hem remain unfinished, with stitch markers and working yarn visible. The warm yellow stripes provide a bright contrast against the subtle gray and brown speckling of the body.

A portable poetry stand sits on a sidewalk outside a storefront. An olive-green vintage typewriter rests on a weathered wooden table beside a small silver service bell, a Square payment sign, and a box of colorful paper. A chalkboard sign on the front reads, “Poetry by Joseppi.” Behind the table, a relaxed black dog lounges in a folding camp chair as if overseeing the operation, adding a charming and welcoming touch to the scene.

A larger-than-life bronze sculpture of Louis Armstrong welcomes visitors inside the New Orleans airport. Captured in an expressive performance pose, Armstrong appears to be singing or entertaining an audience, trumpet in hand and joy radiating from his face. The statue stands amid lush greenery beneath the airport’s high ceilings and expansive white architecture, creating a fitting tribute to one of New Orleans’ most celebrated musical icons.

The cover is designed to resemble a vinyl record, with concentric rainbow-colored rings radiating outward from a yellow record label at the center. Black text on the label reads “Mighty Real,” “Barry Walters,” and “A History of LGBTQ Music, 1969–2000.” A review blurb from Rob Sheffield calls the book “Essential.” The bold rainbow design evokes both Pride imagery and classic record albums, emphasizing the book’s focus on LGBTQ music history.

We keep hearing folks rejecting the warning bells about the trans genocide, saying “it’s not like there’s gas chambers & ovens”. Aside from the reality that the Holocaust didn’t start w/ gas chambers & ovens, this comes from an ignorant understanding of what a genocide is. Let’s talk about it. 1/15
