$5,800 donation to the Sask United Party by "Anonymous, Anonymous" (which is very much illegal in our province). $465,000 loan aka donation by the Sask United Party leader's corporation (which is legal). We need reform of our ridiculously weak political donation laws.

I wrote a letter recently. Here is the completely inadequate response from our Justice Minister. I guess I am wrong, we have a robust and transparent political donation process. Silly me. Pathetic.
Letter from Justice Minister of Saskatchewan addressed to me defending lax donation laws on the basis that they are not actually lax but in fact very robust and transparent. Silly me.

There are precious few resources available for HC. Spending tens of millions on buildings BEFORE ever even caring for a single patient is unwise. The buildings will draw HCWs from already depleted areas. It's an $$$ spreading of an already thin HC workforce.

I am sure it is a coincidence that a majority of the review's authors/contributors are of one mind on the pandemic response. /s We should take their recommendations with a healthy dose of skepticism. It is unfortunate that media headlines don't reflect the bias of this panel.

I once asked someone in media about this. It was after Scott Moe appeared in a federal committee re carbon tax in March.
Text exchange between me and a member of media.

Me: With Scott Moe being in the national spotlight last week due to his appearance at committee I was curious if your publication might be interested in highlighting the large amount of donations to the Sask Party that oil and gas companies are making?

Response: I think the challenge here is that this qualifies as "dog bites man" news for our readers -- they already know the Sask Party is bought and paid for by the oil industry. But I'll kick it up the chain.

Grewal was an MLA when he violated the COI act to the tune of nearly $1M. Deciding not to run in the next election should not confer any sort of immunity from consequences of this. Moe just looks weak here. Again.
“When was the last time that a private citizen was summoned or subpoenaed by the legislature? I don’t know that that’s ever happened,” Moe said Thursday regarding the NDP’s failed emergency motion to have Grewal appear before the legislative assembly and answer questions about the hotel controversy.

On Monday, Moe committed to a review of the act over the next year but made no specific comment regarding fines against former MLAs.
