I've discovered a better love of fish as I've got older, I think like many things it's a question of quality. Fancy tinned fish is great too, though I draw the line at tinned tentacles

I had the same issue with Heroes and with Lost - I saw an interview with the Lost writers who said they didn't know where it was going and just threw stuff at it. Instant switch off.

Econ 101
Person one: Taught my kids how socialism works. Let them trick or treat while I stayed home. Then took all their candy. Socialism 101.

Person two : The socialism part is where the community came together and fed your kids for free. The capitalism part is where you made them do all the work and stole from them.

Several weeks ago, Phil Tippett's legendary animation studio in Berkeley, CA closed. An anonymous hero noticed a folder of CDs. This turned out to be hundreds of unseen hi-res images and videos from Star Wars, Robocop, Jurassic Park, etc. ~90 isos for you to browse: archive.org/details/tipp...
A casual Star Wars alien fella at the cantina, in a sun faded, reddish photo. Someone will be mad at me for not knowing who this is. Phil, a balding Caucasian man, poses a model of the garthok, an antagonist from the Coneheads movie.Phil, a balding caucasian man, points at some CG on a CRT computer monitor, as a younger man looks on. The screen shows a model of a dinosaur attacking a jeep, while there's an actual physical model of that event in the foreground for reference.an isolated shot of a star wars vehicle. Sorry, I don't know star wars lol

Who is doing that? In both those polls the numbers support rejoin, I am just suggesting why there might be hesitation at giving up vetoes.

Ant @antporter.bsky.social · 01/10/2026
You mistake my pointing out genuine concerns for actually supporting brexit, so wind your neck in.

Ant @antporter.bsky.social · 01/10/2026
I agree, but would suggest its unfair to single our the British as being especially self centred. Don't get me wrong, I am all for "rejoin" - but as with "leave" there are reasons why some people wanted it that were entirely valid. Just because it is the best "pro consumer" doesn’t mean its good

Counterpoint The EU is a very flawed organisation, that still exists primarily to serve Capital and not workers, as such losing essential vetoes should be a concern without major considerations of how the EU should work in future
