And I'm not the only one- though I was thinking of the 7 involved specifically someone else points out that with the drugs used and the whole process used the odds are others were involved with other women too. So probably way more than 8 people not counting onlookers who did nothing.

I got the impression he was introduced as a Keyser Söze style truly devious evil bad guy and he ends up basically a cuddly mayor of crime town. I dunno. I may have to watch it again again again.

There's a scene where Fusco lectures(?questions?) John on "aren't they supposed to be HELPING people like that" that's just a beautiful indication of how far he came. He's ready to go out on a limb to help people by then just because it's the right thing to do.

Elias was the character I had the most trouble with. Not helped by the fact that I love the actor. So I was always happy to have him show up in a story but I was never convinced that he was anything more than Krychek for today - the little black dress of plots. Need a good guy/Need a bad guy? Elias!

I often didn't like Harold. But I didn't think that I was supposed to like Harold quite often. The only "good" regular in the show really was that cop played by Taraji P. Henson.

I hated her because she started out as a bad guy who was prepared to kill innocents to get her way. I never actually LIKED John because he started out there too. But by the end I didn't hate her first time through, knowing that I didn't hate her in the end let me see her better earlier 2nd time.

I found that I knew that first time around I never bought his "really a good guy who was forced to do evil things" routine but couldn't put my finger on it. Second time I saw more the places where the story he tells himself about himself don't match what he DID.

First time through I hated Root almost completely. Second time through I liked her a LOT more. I love Fusco. I find* Harold's morals no worse than most central characters. He's slightly more honest about his in someways. He knows he's not being consistent some of the time... *that I can remember
