Keep meaning to binge them all again myself sometime too. Even if Jason Takes Manhattan is almost certainly still shite.

My phone's pish, here's someone else's photo. In Paisley, no-one can hear you scream.

Saw the trailer for the first time last night and thought it looked awful. And Tom Cruise goofing around under a ton of makeup is still just Tom Cruise.

A musician I really like, who I've never seen live, has announced a Glasgow date in the near future, hurrah! And it's in a venue that I hate, the only time I went to a gig there I left after half an hour because of how terrible it was. Brilliant.

Important to amplify stories like this. Prejudiced right wing media organisations - you will be subject to the law. Brava/o to all who stand up to them.

It's set in London, but filmed largely in Edinburgh and Glasgow, makes no effort to hide it (Arthur's Seat!), and even has people go down one street in Edinburgh and appear in another one in Glasgow etc. If you get hung up on minor Scottish geographical details you'd lose your shit at this one.

Alan Maxwell @anthemsprinter.bsky.social · 14/09/2026

Think I may have just watched the most geographically confused Bollywood film I've ever seen.

I see the trailer for Pressure is talking about the "untold" true story... I take it they mean untold apart from the hugely successful play that the film is based on, which toured the whole country and was performed to an audience of thousands

Now watching the 1967 krimi Das Rasthaus der grausamen Puppen, aka The Devil's Girls. There is a small clue in the opening title card as to why this particular one interests me. (And no, obviously it's not actually filmed there)

I can't see how it can work, logistically. Numerically speaking it would have to come some time before 8am, but to the best of my knowledge anything before 8am is the day before.

Enjoyed the Agnes Owens event at the book festival, though it does make me wonder how many other great Scottish books are out there waiting to be rediscovered while currently only existing in the form of dog-eared old paperbacks hidden on the shelves of dusty old second hand book shops.

I've long been fascinated by this chest from the Darien scheme in the National Museum of Scotland. If I had to pick one item from the collection that summed up Scotland, I think this might be it.

Large, very old, empty wooden chest with a ridiculously complex locking mechanism inside the lid
