Dog autism is made up, but I suspect it has roots in injection-site sarcoma which is a real issue with Adjuvant in many animal vaccines. Many vets now offer Adjuvant-free shots and have changed injection sites to that if a tumor does develop it is easier to treat. www.marvistavet.com/vaccine-asso...

If you look at their actions, everyone in the O&G industry expects a sudden end to the crisis to flood the market with a huge amount of impounded crude. They are not sure when it is coming, but no one wants to invest in a bunch of new wells for fear that oil prices will crash once the conflict ends.

This might be what he's saying in public, but Chevron, along with the rest of the industry, is not responding to high oil prices by increasing extraction in North and South America. The buzzword is "capital discipline."

And there will be a hard cap on benefits that will require hours to documents and huge bureaucracy to enforce, so much so that more money will be spent on administration than food. In the mean time people who don't qualify will resent those who do and vote out of that resentment. Great idea.

Admitting that what was though to possibly be an effective measure at the beginning of a pandemic turns out not to be takes more political courage then the medical community had in 2020.

4) Finally there must be as much effort put into how to come out of the restrictions as there is implementing them. The political conflict from COVID came with deciding when to end measures. Restrictions must end either when the threat ends or when they are shown to be ineffective.

antarestrader.bsky.social @antarestrader.bsky.social · 02/08/2026
3) Emergency actions must be time limited. Anything that lasts longer than 3-4 weeks must be done through legislation not by executive fiat. Authority needs to quickly transition back to the will of the people not projection of fear.

2) COVID will have taught us that measures cannot have any exceptions. If you shut down the church but leave the pot dispensary open you will not get public compliance. If everything has to shut down then there can be ZERO exceptions.

I concur that the next pandemic will be different, but there will be consequences from COVID. 1) Public health has lost public trust and every utterance will be subject to suspicion that it is being said to manipulate public response. At this point only legal liability will stem that suspicion. /1

Do you make any proposals about what a ToM test for an LLM would need, or do you argue that ipso facto an LLM cannot have a ToM?

LLMs have plenty of problems. I'm sure they can make bad medical calls. But they also don't totally ignore the literature because of gut feelings, and *actually listen to what you say*. You don't have to wait six months every time you want to speak to one.

"Studying liberal arts makes better humans, but a majority of humans aren't smart enough to go to college for liberal arts education" is perpetuating class stereotypes. Either liberal arts needs to be universal(high school grad req.), or it needs to not be required for STEM degrees.

I think Portland may have a natural reservoir in which case this is a form of solar energy capture. I think you are correct that this would be a poor idea for a new water tower. It would save more energy to lower the tower and spend less pumping the water up.
