"To read Daniela Cascella is to be swept into an ongoing conversation within a maze of words, of voices, of images, of moments that catch one off guard, inspire, alarm. Yesterday, Ansgar Allen told us about big publishers charging authors thousands to make their own work "open". Today, we highlight a book born from exactly that frustration - when two academics were charged unreasonable fees to reprint their own work, they made it un-reprintable - on purpose!

Authors Germán Sierra & Andrew C. Wenaus fed their work through a Python script that reorders every word by frequency, until the text can't be read the usual way. No commercial list would publish it, but Erratum did, and it's free to read - if you can! www.erratumpress.com/zipf-maneuvers
