Anouk @anoukvdm.bsky.social · 17/03/2025Little sketch. I used khadi paper with one layer of pastel ground on it, but I think I either need to skip the pastel ground or add more layers. It was hard to get rid of all the white background where it didn’t work. Maybe I should’ve added a bit of colour to the pastel ground before adding it 🤔🤔 161

And I also use a watercolor paper with pastel ground on top of it this time. Pastelmat definitely works better, but is also so much more expensive! 080

I am usually too lazy to mix my watercolour paint, however with these oil paints I feel it’s necessary to mix all the colours as the painting technique I use is so different. The Coventry Carol tells the story of the Massacre of the Innocents, and its mournful, minor key lullaby makes it a favourite of mine. #ArtAdventCalendar 730976
