No arrests have been publicly confirmed following the attack on a woman at Trump’s rally in Youngstown, Ohio, last night. Today, Youngstown’s mayor spoke out, condemning the confrontation as “senseless.” Hopefully, arrests will follow.

Ballot Props are often poorly written by a small group of lawyers representing a small group of voters. Propositions would not be needed if the AKleg (and Gov) actually represented Alaskans instead of representing a small group of rich donors. AK needs election $$ reform and less powerful parties.

Today Trump’s Department of Homeland Security raided U.S. Congresswoman Rep. Ilhan Omar’s house in a gross abuse of power. This comes as DHS and DOJ have abused and weaponized their power to pursue Congresswoman Rep. LaMonica McIver for doing her job this last year.

Make no mistake—the weaponizing of federal law enforcement to go after elected officials who the President deems as “political opponents” is a chilling and dangerous abuse of power that must be stopped.

We stand in solidarity with Rep. Omar and the entire Somali American community which has been under attack by this President time and time again, and with Rep. McIver who is still fighting this abuse of power in the courts.

The education funding veto would not have been overridden without moderate Republican votes. We wouldn’t have moderate Republicans in office without open primaries and ranked choice. I think focusing on preserving this system is a better use of energy.

I’ve heard two Democratic legislators say the bipartisan coalition is why the legislature has worked so well the past couple of years. I’d argue that open primaries and ranked choice voting are performing as promised. Getting people who aren’t ideologues elected who work for the common good.
