Ireland has the second highest cost of living in the EU behind Denmark. We are 36% more expensive to live in than the average EU country. Housing costs (rent, utilities etc) cost almost double the EU average. Car insurance for under 25's is almost double the EU average, often in the thousands.

In the UK, the tory leader was apparently just on the BBC arguing for a pro-Palestine march to be banned, and also arguing that Tommy Robinson's far-right march should be permitted to go ahead. Dear Ireland, please pay attention. Let's not import this madness. At least no more than we already have.

Regulating airbnb being turned into another "attack on rural Ireland" shows how ridiculous and meaningless that phrase is. Increasing the available houses so people can actually live where they're from as opposed to being priced out by landlords and holiday homes is an attack on rural Ireland 🤷‍♀️

I've said it before and I'll say it again - Irish media and politics have NO IDEA WHAT THEY ARE DOING when it comes to the far right, and they are making exactly the same mistakes as every other country because they are too proud and/or stupid to admit it.

Lovely to hear the bit of Gaeilge and Irish music on TV and radio during the Seachtain na Gaeilge/St. Patrick's Day run every year, and would also suggest to broadcasters that they can incorporate those things into their shows on all the other days of the year too, at any time, it's not even illegal

We're rinsing and repeating the same old issues, we have a lack of housing, which allows developers to argue for reducing space to maximise housing delivery numbers. Councils will be left with the problems, while developers profit. And residents are taking it out on each other.
