The most interesting thing about DHH's talk today is that he can replace desktop/mobile apps with Native while replacing backend layers with Rust, but the Frontend can still not get rid of garbage React.js because generated vanilla JS code is even less reliable, unless we use Glimmer DSL for Web!

My Rails team had an incident retro, and one of the things that were brought up is 5 Senior Software Engineers used different kinds of AI to troubleshoot the problem and all failed to figure it out, but when I did some manual investigation for like 5 minutes, I figured out the problem without AI.

I added a couple of extra convenience mutations to Glimmer DSL for Web. Insert before element and insert after element. They're basically variations on the existing insert at, which already supports the same functionality indirectly. Works on my machine and should release in the near future.

I don't use #Bluesky much because it has no edit functionality. #X has had edit functionality for years now and it gives it a huge advantage over Bluesky, it's not even close. Edit functionality is essential to fix typing mistakes discovered later, improve idea clarity, and even change one's mind.

The #Montreal Ruby #Meetup went very well tonight. It was a casual tech outing at a microbrewery. One of the attendees is doing a PhD in manufacturing, which involves a lot of programming with AI. Another attendee talked about a medical software job he had, leveraging #Ruby on #Rails
