Something reminded me about the very first animated GIF I ever made, back when animated GIFs were actually animated images following the GIF89a specifcation, not the videos that sites like Giphy just call "GIFs" today. Ironically, I had to capture this as a video just to share.

I'm visiting my hometown for the first time in 4 years, and I think the shift to more remote work has had a postive effect on the area. I'm seeing more POC and trans youth than I have even seen here. Also, fewer Trump and Confederate flags. #progress

I've lived in Portland for 18 months. Why am I only learning of this building today? "Provenance Hotels [...] renamed the hotel the Sentinel on March 14, 2014. The name is a reference to the robot-like stone sentinel sculptures along the roofline of the east building (the former Seward Hotel)."

I didn't actually know. I haven't seen those movies since they came out. But from searching online, it seems that the Talkboy voice recorder from Tiger Electronics might be what you're remembering.
