Remember to think critically when reading news and when looking at the accompanying photos. Read the captions. Read the alt text. Look closer. Think about what happened leading up to the photographer taking the photo. Think about what happens next. Think about who the aggressor is.

Once upon a time, my Catholic high school invited my college dropout ass back for career day. I had an honest chat with the (Jewish) Guidance Dept Chairwoman about my perception that a gay college dropout seemed like an odd choice for career day at a Catholic college prep High School.

The home bar continues it's progression towards a proper 19th century public house.

A 6-foot long dark wood bar. The photo is taken from an angle looking down the length of the bar. In the corner at the far end, 3 shelves on one wall, and 2 on another are packed with bottles of liquor. Freddie Mercury was one of the greatest artists ever. His range, his writing, his performing, his graphic arts... Brian May is not only an incredible guitarist and astrophysicist, but wildly successful at being a curator of Queen's music and Freddie's legacy. Freddie died, but his legacy is alive.

I've had a lot of jobs where I was successful despite an ineffective manager. I've had plenty of jobs with good managers, where we were successful together. This is the first job in a while where I feel like the whole team operates as a single successful unit, because we have a GREAT manager.
