Asked my students on Tuesday to imagine a white monster energy drink, and perhaps imagine bringing me one, as a mental state that they probably don't feel any way about but that has a very positive valence for me, to explain valenced mental states. I received several white monsters today lol.

I had better faster healthcare under a public program in both Canada and California (granted, there are way more doctors in the LA metropolitan area). But I'm not in a rural place! Its a mid-size city less than an hour from Denver! And I'd have to go farther than Denver for the Sep 30th appointment!

People always ragging on Canadian healthcare and wait times. Meanwhile in the Land of Freedom and Plenty, the doctors in my network "accepting new patients" can have me come in as early as February 5. Or September 30th if I can go 90 miles away as a carless person.

Bracketing off the second concern (successful encounters might still contribute to that one), it seems overly negative and not properly accounting for interpersonal goods and benefits (whether its just fun flirting, sex, or more involved relationships following).

Sorry i interpreted you as saying that the successful flirting (or more) instances are or were somehow still bad ideas. Which you might still think so but i imagine they dont at at least run afoul of the second concern (creating hostile spaces), which I think is a real worry.
