Every time I log back into Bluesky, I’m reminded that my interests that I want to engage with strangers on (namely: sports) just isn’t represented here, so I log back off. Really sucks that twitter’s oozing corpse is the only place that discourse really happens.

Work on my studio is FINALLY starting (allegedly) on Wednesday after two months of trying to get through all the red tape. The downside? Bank account is awfully slim right now thanks to the two months of not having a workspace to generate income. What a fun race to the finish line!

James Daunt has orchestrated a truly incredible turnaround for Barnes & Noble. If you turn your nose up at BN, or think that it’s some sort of cheap mass market retail waste, I would ask when was the last time you were in one? Because the shift in the last few years has been pretty fantastic.

i made a game called Sin-Eater! it’s a solo journaling ttrpg about the historical practice of sin eating. it’s a lightly supernatural gothic horror with a vibe that’s equal parts illuminated manuscript and occult cookbook. if you want to learn more about it, check out this post shorturl.at/g5foA

Ngl, it’s kind of a bummer that, as a result of Elon prat-falling all over Twitter, there’s an awful lot of Twitter energy being brought into what has, up until today, been a fairly chill and unique space.

Operation “turn the library into a stealth media room” is officially underway. This wall used to be all bookcases. Books have been relocated to their new home. I cut down two BILLYs from Ikea to make the middle boxes, and trimmed down one of the tall bookcase sides to make the new top.

A media center build in progress. Two tall bookcases on either side with a shorter media center in construction in the center.

A reminder that just because someone works regularly in the entertainment industry, that doesn't mean they are rich by any reasonable measure. Many writers of your favorite shows and actors in your favorite TV and films live hand to mouth. That is who we are fighting for.

I like it here and I don’t think a mega corp Twitter clone can kill spaces like these. There is a high level of original thought and engagement, people care about each other and maintain a strong space minimizing bad faith, harassment, and disinfo, which lets people be themselves & build community

What I didn’t anticipate about Threads: That jumping in and seeing the weird conglomerate of celebs you don’t like and tech-bro-trepreneur-fluencers who all got invited to the party first, would feel just really fucking gross.
