Amazon is down to 5 copies left of “Haddonfield”. Suppose the Halloween spirit is alive & well. Grab a copy while you can.

Cue the Silver Shamrock jingle - the countdown to Halloween is on! What better way to kick off Spooky Season than by hearing from Tom Atkins himself, in this excerpt from his “Horror in Haddonfield” interview. (Link in comments)

An excerpt from my interview with Halloween H20 editor Patrick Lussier. Would you have liked to have seen the story continue from Rob Zombie’s Halloween 2 with a different director? (The full interview can be found in my book, Horror in Haddonfield. Link in comments)

Hayden Panettiere, Dolly Parton, Michael Wright and Tim Curry have all died in the last 10 days. Such a gut punch. You can stop now 2026.

There will never be another Dolly Parton. Rest in peace Saint Dolly.

Nasty storm here in Cincinnati. Took out the left & right sides of my fence. Damages suck, but it could always be worse. Hope everyone is OK out there.

Much like Michael Myers himself, “Haddonfield” has risen from the dead & is now back in the Top 50 on Amazon again. Spooky season must be approaching.

030

Andrew Grevas @andrewgrevas.com · 02/06/2026

Was Michael Myers violence ever sexual in nature? I asked several people this question during the making of “Horror in Haddonfield”. Nobody’s answer was as definitive as Halloween 5 director Dominique Othenin-Girard. Did you see Michael’s violence ever as sexual?

Andrew Grevas @andrewgrevas.com · 01/06/2026

In 2018, I asked NOES 2 Director Jack Sholder about the Jesse character & whether or not the subtext surrounding Jesse’s sexuality was intentional. Intentional or not, Jesse would go on to become a horror icon & provide representation for the queer community at a time when there was much less.

People who know more about marketing than me have informed me that I should start promoting “Haddonfield” again. Going back on podcasts, trying to get more reviews & all the ways to get new eyes on the book from now through October. So, I shall - all while writing the next book.

John Carpenter & Dean Cundey’s work together resulted in some of horror’s most atmospheric shots, that leaned into the genre’s visual past while also pushing it forward. Cundey would tell me of his love of 50s monster films that kickstarted his imagination in our interview for Horror in Haddonfield.

I asked Halloween Ends writer Paul Brad Logan about location as character in “Haddonfield”. Here’s an excerpt from that interview:

010

Andrew Grevas @andrewgrevas.com · 28/05/2026

Location adds to the lore of horror series. Haddonfield’s trauma was visible. Springwood tried to contain its dark secrets. Crystal Lake tried to move past its violent history. But all 3 series made their locations a character, which adds additional layers of storytelling over the course of sequels.

I had no idea the pain in my left hand was related to my Graves Disease until this week. I just thought I had a new problem to deal with. Moving slower these days but I’m still moving. Spirits are strong even if my health is a challenge.

“Haddonfield” might not have been nominated for any awards this year, but a lot of people told me that they enjoyed the book. Kind words & heartfelt reviews that I will forever cherish. This isn’t a knock on awards - I feel motivated to get my name out there so my future books can be considered.

I have about 20 copies of “Horror in Haddonfield” - my first book left. I don’t plan on ordering anymore. If you’re interested in buying a personalized copy, send me a DM. Once they’re gone, that’s it.

Happy Birthday Rob Zombie. Working on “Haddonfield”, one of my biggest realizations was how much people who worked with Rob, loved him. One of the only people that nobody said a bad word about. He protected his cast & crew, fought for them & cultivated a family like feeling on set.

Jack used his Christmas money to buy a new Jason figure. He’s at an age where he hates when I take his picture but this boy owns my heart. He has a spectacular collection of horror action figures (and great musical taste for an 11 year old).

Really missing my step mom today. Her & I would quote Kids in the Hall: Brain Candy endlessly. I always used to tell her that this would be us when we were older & we would crack up. Next month makes 5 years she’s been gone, but it still doesn’t feel real.

Tonight is my last planned book signing. 2 years of writing & 1 year of non stop PR ends tonight. It’s bittersweet. All I can think about in this moment is that I hope people enjoyed the book. Evil never dies. It has stories left to tell.

HBO has a long tradition of great miniseries & limited series, but Task might be their best yet. Some of Mark Ruffalo’s best work and Tom Pelphrey’s best work to date. Looking forward to Sunday’s finale but I could absolutely live in this world a little longer.

After being off the app for close to a year, I made a new Twitter account. Started fresh. What I found wasn’t the same hellscape I left. I found a group of horror fans & Twin Peaks fans who were glad to see me. That are supporting my book. Even made me this image. Still here, but there too.

21 years ago today, LOST premiered. I say without hyperbole that the show changed my life. I am forever grateful to @damonlindelof.bsky.social for the stories he told. A huge inspiration to me as a creative person. My next book is about Twin Peaks but LOST is coming. Just like the candidates.
