Excited to share a new preprint! We address a longstanding question related to stratifying tissues: What are the physical mechanisms that drive epidermal cell delamination? Find out why this👇 traction force pattern emerges and how it is linked to upward cell motion: www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6...

Happy to share our new review on biophysical principles of cell competition and elimination: www.cell.com/trends/cell-... With @bladoux.bsky.social and @rmmege.bsky.social, we discuss mechanical fitness, how loser cells are removed through various strategies and how forces can effect their fate

Are you investigating cell tissues and interested in stress patterns? TFM + BISM reveals them! 👇 With @luanger.bsky.social and P. Marcq, we summarise the applicability across different exp. conditions regularly used in the @bladoux.bsky.social @rmmege.bsky.social lab. Full pipeline on Lucas GitHub!

Truly honoured and grateful to have received alongside other young researchers the prize "Grandes avancées françaises en biologie" from the @academiesciences.bsky.social for our paper on mechanical cell competition together with @luanger.bsky.social and S. Monfared www.nature.com/articles/s41...

What happens between cells with adhesion differences in crowded tissues? Mechanical cell competition! Check the final version of our study to learn more about compression-independent cell elimination, interactions at tissue interfaces and the role of force transmission in that tinyurl.com/4yw97bm3

We show that cells with increased cell-cell adhesion benefit from increased force transmission capabilities and exhibit a higher resistance to these stress fluctuations, while the opposing cells are removed. Thus, force transmission can provide the crucial advantage in mechanical cell competition
