When I was with the Lookouts, Dolly and Carl came to the park one day, took one look at the clubhouse spread, and demanded we all get chicken and dumplings on her dime. She spent time with every person on the team (players and coaches) and refused to leave until we taught some Spanish swear words.

I was fortunate enough to have a chance to usher a Dolly concert several years ago at Forest Hills Stadium, and it was notable not just for the (obviously amazing) performance from her, but also for just the absolute cross-section of people who showed up to see her. One of one.
