Anderbell Studios @anderbell.studio · 29/08/2026Strangely, it's back to "KO's" again now, both in the headline and in the meta tags sites like Bluesky are supposed to use for their preview cards. 110
Anderbell Studios @anderbell.studio · 13/07/2026Some of our team uses pixilart.com to produce sprites for our open-source game Pop Pixie. Pixilart is pretty good, but it doesn't seem to let you import existing images and edit them, only their custom .pixil format. #gamedev #pixilart #pixelart 2112
Anderbell Studios @anderbell.studio · 08/07/2026It looks like Chrome actually found a nice solution to that particular problem. 100
Anderbell Studios @anderbell.studio · 08/07/2026That sounds annoying. Firefox has a similar user interface issue where if you click the address bar once it selects the entire URL, but if you subsequently try to double-click a word to select it, it suddenly shows the "https://" so your click lands in the wrong place. 110
Anderbell Studios @anderbell.studio · 01/07/2026There are some maze-like rooms we've got planned where we might do full, pixel-based fog of war. Mock-up: 110
Anderbell Studios @anderbell.studio · 30/06/2026When the tests run in CI, these screenshots are uploaded automatically to Percy and visually compared to the previous versions of those screenshots to let us know if something changes unexpectedly. We're using BrowserStack's generous Open Source programme to perform these comparisons for free. 100
Anderbell Studios @anderbell.studio · 30/06/2026You may have noticed the brief flicker near the start of that video. That was the Unity test taking screenshots of the game at all supported screen sizes. 100
Anderbell Studios @anderbell.studio · 30/06/2026We're also using GameCI to run our full suite of Unity tests for every commit. These tests simulate user input to ensure that all levels can be completed. 100
Anderbell Studios @anderbell.studio · 30/06/2026We control the experimental branch using a magic string in the PR description: "#build [scene]", where [scene] is the Unity scene to launch when running the build. For example, "#build Level 3" creates a build that launches straight into level 3 and pushes it to the beta branch on Steam. 100
Anderbell Studios @anderbell.studio · 29/06/2026Another thing we've found useful is wireframe sketches of levels, which we're developing in tandem with the story. 030
Anderbell Studios @anderbell.studio · 29/06/2026For each point, we've noted (also as a filterable tag) the exact level of the game we plan to reveal that fact in and how we plan to do so. 000
Anderbell Studios @anderbell.studio · 29/06/2026My advice for any other indie #GameDev s working on games with complex stories: Spreadsheets are you friend! We've just finished tracking every plot point and piece of backstory info in a huge table, tagged by character and topic so we can filter it. 1102
Anderbell Studios @anderbell.studio · 29/06/2026Our upcoming free, open-source game Pop Pixie was NOT written as an allegory for people losing their jobs to #AI. ...But it might as well have been 😅 100
Anderbell Studios @anderbell.studio · 27/11/2024We're working on an electricity effect for our #Unity game. I think it's looking pretty good so far! ⚡️ Since our game's scripts are MIT licensed, feel free to use it with credit. github.com/anderbellstu... #gamedev 150
