🔹 Five people were killed Wednesday in Doueir, a hill town in Nabatieh province overlooking valleys north of the Israeli border. Four others were killed in Tibnin, a major town in Bint Jbeil district near some of the heaviest front-line fighting areas along southern Lebanon’s border belt.

🔹 Israeli strikes also killed four people in Ghandourieh, a village in the border highlands east of Tyre, while two others were killed in nearby Sultaniyeh. In the coastal Tyre district, one person was killed in Burj al-Shemali, a crowded urban area adjacent to the city of Tyre and home to one of Lebanon’s largest Palestinian refugee camps.

🔹 Two more people were killed and two wounded in Jabal al-Botom, a mountainous area overlooking the western sector of the border.

🔹 The death toll from Israeli attacks on Lebanon since March 2 has now risen to 3,073 killed and 9,362 wounded.

🔹 Tuesday’s deadliest strike hit Deir Qanoun al-Nahr, a village east of Tyre, killing 13 people, including 11 members of the same family and a Syrian couple whose son was also wounded.

She says she had only stepped out to buy bread. When she returned, her home was shattered and the neighbourhood had turned into a massacre scene.

🇵🇸 Hamas announced the killing of senior commander Izz al-Din al-Haddad, the General Commander of the Al-Qassam Brigades and one of the central military leaders behind the resistance movement in Gaza.

Haddad, known as Abu Suhaib, was killed Friday evening in what Hamas called a “treacherous and cowardly Zionist assassination” targeting him, members of his family, and civilians in Gaza. Hamas said his wife, Umm Suhaib, his daughter Noor, and several other civilians were also killed in the strike. The Health Ministry said 7 people were killed including 3 children, and 50 people wounded.

The movement described Haddad as a key architect of the resistance project in Gaza and said he played a major leadership role during Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza. Hamas noted he had already lost two sons, Suhaib and Moamen, as well as his son-in-law Mahmoud Abu Hasira during the war.

The resistance group said the assassination once again exposed Israel’s “criminal and fascist nature,” accusing Israel of repeatedly violating the ceasefire agreement while attempting to achieve through assassinations, mass killing, and terror what it “failed to impose by force” on the battlefield.

The resistance also condemned international complicity and silence as Israel continues bombing Gaza despite the ceasefire framework.

Hamas said the killings would not weaken the resistance, but instead “remain fuel for the battle of liberation.”

Minattallah Nabil Abu Libdah, 6, was killed Monday in an Israeli attack on a tent in Khan Younis in southern Gaza. She had reportedly been recovering from a broken arm at the time of her death. Footage shows her father crying uncontrollably at the hospital next to her lifeless body.

A second person, 31-year-old woman Hanan Mahmoud, was also killed in the Israeli attack, according to reporting by Mosab Abu Toha.

Freelance journalist Muammar Ibrahim, who most recently contributed to Al Jazeera, was abducted by Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on October 26, 2025, during the paramilitary group’s capture of El-Fasher, the last Sudanese army-held city in the North Darfur region. More than 200 days later, his family has received no contact, no proof of life, and no information on his whereabouts or condition, according to the Committee to Protect Journalists.

A video circulated by the RSF the day of his detention showed Ibrahim surrounded by fighters, identifying himself and confirming he had been detained while attempting to flee the besieged city. A second video released by the RSF on November 3 showed him under apparent interrogation, accused of “bias” for describing the RSF as a “militia” and “Janjaweed.”

80 rights groups and journalists joined CPJ in January in calling for his release, noting that no independent or verifiable information is available regarding his health, legal status, or conditions of detention.

Since the war between the RSF and the Sudanese Armed Forces began in April 2023, the RSF has killed at least 14 journalists, with dozens more detained, assaulted, or disappeared, according to CPJ.

Reps. Nydia Velázquez (D-NY) and Gregory Meeks (D-NY), the ranking member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, introduced a concurrent resolution invoking the War Powers Act to direct the removal of U.S. armed forces from any unauthorized hostilities against Cuba.

The resolution follows months of escalation by the Trump administration, including an oil blockade, repeated presidential threats to “take” Cuba, and last week’s indictment of former Cuban President Raúl Castro — which lawmakers warn could be used to justify military action.

“Donald Trump’s belligerent foreign policy is creating new wars and conflicts across the world,” Velázquez said. “This administration is rushing toward another disastrous war, putting countless American and foreign lives at risk.”

Meeks called the push toward Cuba a distraction from “the President’s failure in Iran, weak economy, and mass deportation of 500,000 Cubans legally in the United States.”

Israel blocked the entry of sacrificial animals into Gaza ahead of Eid al-Adha, depriving Palestinians of one of their most significant religious rituals of the Islamic calendar, according to Gaza’s Government Information Office.

The office said approximately 17,000 calves and 24,000 sheep designated for the Eid season were prevented from entering the Strip amid the ongoing blockade and closure of crossings.

Eid al-Adha, which commemorates the willingness of Ibrahim to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God, is one of the two major Islamic holidays. The ritual slaughter of livestock is central to the observance.

Gaza’s Government Information Office called on the international community and human rights institutions to pressure for the opening of crossings and the entry of animals, humanitarian aid, and basic necessities into the Strip.
