When I was in elementary school, my mom raised a stink about a librarian reading to my class from "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardobe." A friend told her the book was evil because... well, WITCH. Religious indoctrination is a powerful drug. I read the entire series later on as a young adult.

If you want your browser to stay quiet, check out the "Mute sites by default" plugin. I know it's available for Firefox (and also works with Waterfox). Not sure what other browsers might be supported. Just remember to unmute tabs when you do want audio. Ask me how I know. 😆

Textra now has a whitelist for incoming texts. People not in your contacts don't get through, so hopefully no more spam texts. They've also added a delay send function that gives you 1-10 seconds to realize "oops - wrong recipient!" or "maybe I shouldn't have said that." Nifty! #Textra

Migrating to a new phone would be a lot easier if I were an Apple guy. It would be somewhat easier if I used stock Android, but I care about security. I'd be miserable using an iPhone as my daily driver, but Apple does take the cake for ease of use. #GrapheneOS

Years ago I started hearing so-called "prophets" use the term "download" to describe the supposed revelations they were receiving from on high. This is the first time I've heard AI invoked by voices of the NAR. It's weird they use "AI" for divine revelation, though. So god is now just a LLM?

I ordered a new flash tonight. Do I need a new flash? Probably not. But this one is a small Godox flash you can detach from its base and use off-camera. Perfect for portraits while traveling! Plus, it will trigger my other Godox lighting gear. It even has an integrated modeling light.

If you have aging eyes (or not), do yourself a favor and buy an inexpensive jewelers' loupe with LED illumination. I bought mine about a year ago for reasons I don't recall. A 10x magnifier is great for tiny print where even my glasses don't cut it.

I'm at a dentist appointment a bit early. When I check out, I'm going to ask to be removed from their automated texting system. An email reminder would be OK, but the system always sends multiple requests to fill out online paperwork for each visit. My phone is for my convenience, not theirs.
