The book talks about it from various angles. Understanding how people interrelate is a key component, as is systemic racism.

I've been reading about the Tulsa Race Massacre in Robert P. Jones' "The Hidden Roots of White Supremacy: and the Path to a Shared American Future." Now I'm seeing the "Truth" post by Trump from 2 days ago urging Minnesotans to fight back against Somalis. It's like we never learn.

I understand your rationale. It's true that AI is being used in software development - even for the Linux kernel, and for the GrapheneOS that runs on my Pixel phone. I got the impression that this software was being written entirely by AI, but I could be wrong about that.

I didn't know about equine practice of using eels, but the term "figging" is well-known in some BDSM circles. A peeled ginger root is inserted, and the intensity increases the longer is remains in there. It's often used in the spanking scene as added "punishment" for the sub. So I've heard. 🤷‍♂️

I've noticed that some people react to the citation of simple facts as a personal affront. If you feel attacked by facts, that's indicative of a personal issue. You might try looking within and asking yourself why facts offend you.

Some of those jobs can be described as "Professional Bullshitter." I had a business development guy tell me that's what he did. To their credit, some people are really good at it. I talk too much, and divulge "incriminating" details nobody even asked for. So I'm the opposite of that.

I regret that I didn't consider becoming a linguist* when I was younger, although I probably didn't know that was even an option back in high school. Languages and their historic development fascinate me deeply. *An actual linguist; I'm not setting up a tired joke.

Well said. I was enthusiastic when smartphones first appeared (like my Palm Centro), but I've never seen them as a proper substitute for real computers. Now I resent the expectation that I'll carry a smartphone with me at all times.

Did system updates on public access PCs at one of our area libraries today. Not inside this historic library building standing next to the active one, though — it's standing room only. Shot on the 4MP Konica Minolta DiMage G400. Probably too late for #ShittyCameraChallenge, but it was in my bag.
A small white building that's roughly the size of a modest tool shed. It's a former tiny library preserved as a piece of American history. An American flag is mounted on the side by a window.

The nearby placard identifies it as Back Valley Public Library. It sits next to the current public library in Coalfield, Tennessee.
