I don't think ctenophores are "born" at all, really.

This translucent marine creature called a sea walnut, which is a species of comb jelly, or ctenophore, does indeed have two mouths and two "rear" ends-pores from which it ejects waste. Yet it wasn't born with these double features. In 2024, researchers found injured sea walnuts can join bodies and thrive again by merging some of their systems.
