Well.... it's finally happened. I've had this discord account for over ten(10) years, and i'm UNCATEGORIZED? due to age verification being generally unsafe, the stream discord link has been officially removed.

FA regardless of your personal feelings, is the core of the fandom and losing it would mean YEARS AND YEARS of art, messages, pages, and memorials for people that have passed, would be gone. We CANNOT allow ourselves to rely simply on sites like bsky, twitter, insta, etc. etc. to be our defaults.

I've been seeing a LOT of people fall for discord tricks these past couple months, so I felt the need to make this to help get people caught up on internet safety 101. Please repost/share this around, you could help save someone's account!

Techbros seem to love Tolkien, so here's an analogy to help you understand what genAI is. GenAI is The One Ring. You think your use is justified, b/c you don't have evil in your heart. But it came from evil, it is intended for evil purpose, & anything you do with it will be twisted to that end.

Boromir from THE LORD OF THE RINGS, holding The One Ring. He thought he could use it for good, but everything done with the ring turns to evil. He was one of the mightiest warriors of middle earth, and he could not resist its powers. Others even mightier fell to the ring. Do you think you are stronger than them? The One Ring is generative AI.

No stream tonight. Flood cleanup efforts are ongoing and it is an all beans on deck scenario for this part of it.

After taking time to look at the damage, I'm temporarily bringing back the 'make the kobold sing' redeem for bits and gift subs to try and help ease the funds on my family at least a little bit.

Flood 2 update part 2 (electric boogaloo): Cleanup efforts are ongoing and being a three person job. I will not be able to stream tonight as I am doing my best to help evacuate belongings to the next floor up. Fingers crossed the forecasted rain this week doesn't happen.

First waking up to a *red* tornado warning, now the second flood in a week. We're luckier than most due to our quick mitigation of it, thank the powers that be, but this is ridiculous. Not looking forward to the panic attack and adrenaline crash soon...

Amalga @amalga.bsky.social · 02/08/2026

if I had a nickel for every time i was woken up by a tornado warning, i'd have two nickels. I'm okay, the danger was south of me and didn't get anywhere near us. I hope those that were in the path are okay though...

I have put my voice out there. You should too for the safety of the platform. I dont know if it'll make a change, but it doesnt hurt to try. As for my streams if this happens... I'll need to act with as much information and a clear mind as possible.

Amalga @amalga.bsky.social · 28/07/2026

After taking some time to see how things are, I can confirm I will not be streaming tonight and instead taking time to recover. I hope to be okay for tomorrow though. But to sumarrize, if I had not checked the basement when I did, we would have lost a lot of important books and papers.

Amalga @amalga.bsky.social · 28/07/2026

Oh my gods. We were hit by a larger storm than expected and things have flooded. At the moment i have no idea if i will be able to stream tomorrow? Today? Whichever the Tuesday stream lads on as it is just after 4AM. Ill try to keep you guys updated, but I can't promise due to genuinely panicking. 😭

Every year for Pride, I repost Hue. I made him to send love and comfort to those who feel Pride isn’t for them because they aren’t out. You matter, you are valid, and it’s ok if you aren’t ready yet. Coming out is not a requirement for being part of this community. Happy Pride 🌈

Gardening update, the purple irises from yesterday have opened their flowers! It's really neat how they smell like grape kool-aid!
