Playing solo games in groups sounds counter-intuitive, but it's great, and it overcomes some real challenges TTRPGs face: ✔️ No GM ✔️ No prep ✔️ Drop in, drop out (no short-term commitment) ✔️ One-shots (no long-term commitment) ... while keeping so many of the good things, like meeting new friends!

My issue with PbtA games like Stonetop is that they promise deep, rich, emotional story-telling and then go and give you a first session where you're filling out little boxes and writing items down like you're filing your taxes.

Parce que je peux comprendre le problème logistique. Mais le risque d'être trop prescripteur et de ne pas les inclure, c'est d'être de plus en plus en décalage avec l'évolution du médium et de ne pas toucher le public touché par ces jeux, qui ne viendront jamais proposer d'écrire ces fiches Grog.

Je soutiens ce qui a été dit plus haut. Tous les JdR solos (qui se jouent aussi sur table, hein), ceux en duo, ceux sans MJ (Pour la Reine, etc.)... Mais d'un point de vue plus pratique, est-ce que vous avez des matelots qui jouent à ces jeux ?

Did you do it? Here in Korea, we moved our English-speaking community from FB to Discord 2 years ago, it's been quite active since. It's more GMs/Players oriented, but we got quite a few game designers among us. We also have people from Japan who couldn't anything like this on the Japanese side.

Fundamentally disagrees that games should be played to know how they run. This is is the same type of dipshittery as saying, "Playtesting is unnecessary, as my designs are always perfect". Dude thinks he's more capable than then entire RPG industry because they play it to see how it runs.
