A paper adventurer #Watercolour and #gouache on rag paper in 2020
A little mushroom person in a leaf bandana stands atop a forget-me-not leaf. It's spring and the plant is in bloom. The little mushroom lad braces themself against the stalk with one arm and shields their eyes with the other. Their big, pointed navy cap tips back to show gills and makes them seem a little like a wizard.

A portrait of Grey and Pekoe for J, with a healed portrait of Micia
A photo of J's fresh black ink inner arm tattoo portrait of the cats Grey and Pekoe. At this angle we can see Grey who is shorter haired than Pekoe, and has soft grey tabby stripes. He winks a little with his left eye and snuggles into his adopted brother Pekoe. His long tail is striped and curls. This is a fresh photo of J's inner arm with the fresh and slightly inflamed black ink tattoo of pekoe and grey. We see pekoes beautiful vacant face, mouth parted like the model he is. His forehead is delicately striped and his dub is long and silky. He snugs up to grey and they share company and warmth.A healed black ink portrait on J's upper outer arm. This portrait of Micia the cat has been healed for six years as of this photo. Micia is a long haired cat sitting with a bowtie on and looking at a butterfly.

A 7 panel comic by the artist. First panel: The artist is running from a distance towards a group of people playing basketball in the park. The artist is holding a pumpkin above their head and screaming "AAAAAAAAA". Second panel: The artist has leapt up and is in position to slam dunk the pumpkin into the basketball hoop. Panel three: the pumpkin splatters violently against the backboard of the basketball hoop, sending orange pumpkin goop everywhere. Panel four: the players stand staring, covered in pumpkin goop and shocked. Panel five: the artist stares at them wide-eyed, also covered in the goop and says "it's October FIRST". Their hand reaches towards their face. Panel six: the artist rips off their own face like a rubber mask to reveal a skeleton beneath. Panel 7: the group of players stand shocked and horrified, watching as the skeleton falls to the ground in a pile of bones, the sound effects says "CLATTER".

Watercolour on rag paper from 2020 I love a snoot blossom
A dark wood oval frame with a watercolour painting inside it. The paintings is a floating botanical illustration of a peony-like flower with a stem and two leaves attached. The stem and leaves are lead grey and the cupped petals are blushy pink. The pistol that protrudes from the center is a sleek about...of a dog? Maybe? A shining pink nose sniffs the air with blushing muzzle. Reddened eyes are closed in contemplation. All sorts of spider-silk whiskers sway from the muzzle, like anthers. Perhaps his plant is carnivorous.A close up of the dog blossom. The petals shine like satin with little flecks of dew. Each is cupped and succulent like a magnolia. The pistol that protrudes from the center is a sleek about...of a dog? Maybe? A shining pink nose sniffs the air with blushing muzzle. Reddened eyes are closed in contemplation. All sorts of spider-silk whiskers sway from the muzzle, like anthers. Perhaps his plant is carnivorous.

Fairies from my flash for M ✨
A slight angle shift from the next photo- of M's shoulder with fresh fairy tattoos. This angle focuses on the mouse fairy with folded arms and a big smile. This mouse has rosy cheeks and big spotted fairy wings. They have a thin red tail and overalls with knee patches. They have little antennae. There is a red cat dairy above the mouse but it can be seen better in the other image.

A couple of fresh fairy tattoos on M's shoulder, surrounded by healed colour tattoos. The top fairy is a reclining red cat with blue pants and a blue belt, white boots with red buttons, and a blue bandana. The fairy has butterfly wings with little red dots around the edges. The fairy cat's eyes are closed in bliss. They have little antennae. The other fairy is a white mouse leaning with arms crossed in red stripe overalls. Blue and Red patches are on the knees. This mouse has white and red spotted wings like a butterfly. The mouse fairy also has antennae and rosy cheeks.the mouse also has white boots with red soles.

A fresh tattoo of a newt wizard done in black ink on the back of J's calf. He stands on his back legs holding a fiddlehead staff. His heavy, hooded cloak flows behind him. His tail curls to the side. The pointed hood of the cloak is up on the newts smiling head. The cloak is fastened with a gem and below hangs a shell pendant. The newt other arm rest patiently at their side: no spells at the moment, just patience.

A #hare sage 2 years healed, for S #tattoo
A healed black and grey tattoo of a hare sitting on its hind legs, listening forward but, eye looking back. One forepaw rests on the ground and one holds a twisting staff. The hare sports a summer cloak and looks ready to run or cast enchantments. This tattoo is on the outer side of S's right upper arm.

Ancient laser copy paper stickers from early art school Maybe these are design ideas to revisit
Three white paper sticker with black ink drawings printed onto them. The stickers are hand cut out and feature the link to my defunct tumblr. One sticker is a wine bottle with a three eyed owl with a crown on a branch. One is a kind of twinky deer with human arms playing cat's cradle while eyeing us suspiciously. Their jar is round with a small mouth, cork, and finger loop. The last cylindrical jar houses a little bat-like gargoyle type creature with a water buffalo skull head and a tiny crown. They are contemplative. All these roughly hand size stickers sit on my messy desk cutting mat.

SHARK WIZ! excellent choice of first #tattoo N, thank you :))
A black ink tattoo on the inner side of N's right upper arm. The tattoo is of a generic shark: maybe a mako, maybe a great white. What makes this shark different is that he is a wizard! You can tell because he is wearing the customary pointy hat with stars and a moon and a matching tatter cloak. Why is the cloak tattered? He's a shark. He turns and swims past us to the left, giving a sharky side-eye.

This is my favourite thing I made last year: the Glass Creek Treasure Collector Club Description in the images and below
a brightly lit image of GCTCC where there are crisp shadows that can be seen. It is a square painting, sort of like a quilt made of soldered colourless glass. The quit is made of microscope slides and scratch plates. In the lower center there is a watercolour painting of three corvids crossing a log bridge: a crow in a hat with a shoulder bag, a jay with a bandana, and a magpie with a backpack and camp roll. They all peer into the glassy creek that rushes by. Just below a bottle cap frames a continuation of the creek that carries a passenger: a little mouse in a folded paper vessel. The the left of the mouse there is a dark piece of glass with a white enamel antler painted on it. The the left of the moise there are two slides. The closest slide hosts paintings of metallic objects such as a key, a nail, a can tab, and a screw. The further slide is paintings of loose teeth and one smaller long bone. Above the bones there are pieces of a clear glass plate with an etched floral detail. Above the plate there is a pressed wood sorrel. To the right is a found metal washer and more broken plate. There aer two more welding sheilds with enamel paintings of a nurse log and a snail shell. In the top left corner there is a slide with a painting of a skeleton key and a little slide of some mettalic leaf. Above the birds there is a little slide of a scrap with an X below a network of found glass shapes and a bell and a washer. A big chunk of glass plate hugs a slide on the top right that reads, "GLASS GREEK TREASURE COLLECTOR CLUB" on striped marble paper. Along the left side of the piece there are bits of urchin, soldered stones, and more slides. A bottle cap holds a painting of a jar with e tadpole. A small slide holds bird foot prints, another holds a very tiny painting of a stump, and another a paper painting of a bit of foil. Lastly, there is a slide with a marbled piece of paper with a hand drawn map of Glass Creek and where there might be treasure. a softly lit image of GCTCC to show detail. Lookit this guuuuuuuy I #tattooed him on a #friend the other day
A small tattoo on low melanin skin of a little beluga man fairy? He wears shiny knee height books, white trousers held by a red string and no shirt so his tattoos and nips are on display. He stand snoot to the sky, in a little gnome hat, arms akimbo. He has thin antennae, like all fairies. He is framed by his big beautiful butterfly-like wings that are decorated in red with eyes and concentric rings. What a little guy!!

drawing in solidarity with the #CUPW #strike from a couple years ago. Pencil crayon on discarded construction paper #breadandroses
a scan of a sketchbook is cropped to show a drawing flowing over the spine and edge to edge. It's warm and orange with moments of turquiouse blue-green. The scene is this: a genial raccoon letter carrier strolls upright down a wooded path on a sunny autumn day. Around them many birds fly carefully carrying gifts for the carrier. A white gull brings a small baguette of bread. A chickadee brings a slice of a loaf. Another chickadee offers a single red rose while a crows flies up with two roses from the other side. All of these creatures are carrying on together and supporting each other. Their world is brighter and fuller for it.

Sir Pheasant #tattooink on #ragpaper on #jarlid after my last post I have the goal of taking over #jarlid These cat knights are 3" across
A red jar lid holds a circular portrait of a warm grey and white tabby with big amber eyes. She wears a steel collar with a decorative twisted brass trim, it flares out to her shoulders. She wears a knight's helm with a slotted visor, resting on her brow. Her pointed ears stick out from behind the visor. At the crown of her helmet two pheasant feathers diverge from a puff of white down. They are long, stripped and prismatic. Perhaps she won them in a fantastic fight or maybe they were a gift of honour.

A red jar lid encircles a small painting on buff coloured rag paper of a marmalade tabby knight. His name is sir Chili Crisp and he sports a dinged steel collar armor that flares to his shoulder and a matching helm with the slotted visor in the up position. A fluffy red plum highlights the helmet from behind. Sir C has pointed orange ears poking out above his visor. He has big green eyes with focused slits for pupils. His cheeks and forehead are orange brown tabby but his muzzle and whiskers are snow white. He smiles at us confidently.

Painted Pal #watercolour on rag paper in a jar lid 2022 for my show, #pond pals 1.5” round
A straight on view of the painting Painted Pal, which depicts a painted turtle (the species not a literally painted turtle, though this is literally a painting) sitting on a log on the mushy, mossy, leaf-strewn bank of a pond or something. The turtle looks away from us in profile, sheltered a little by a broken branch jutting up and over from the log they sit on. The log has patches of thick moss that have caught seeds and grown thin, lanky grasses. Almond shaped leaves of many autumn colours pepper the ground and log. The little turtle poses proudly on the log in their black lacquer shell. Their skin and shell are accented with moments and stripes of a red as rich as berries. Perhaps with turtle is enjoying the sun.Painted pal photographed on an angle so the jar lid it’s housed can be appreciated for its depth and colour: the little enamelled, metal lid is a bright, lemon yellow.

A Prize 1.5” round #Watercolour on rag paper framed in a small metal jar lid For my 2022 show Pond Pals
A straight on view of A Prize: a little round watercolour painting on a pale beige paper. The painting is of a little garden snail carrying a golden yellow leaf nearly as big as they are. The little snail hefts the leaf over its shell like a bindle over a shoulder. Their little eye stalks peep back and forward as they move across the moss. Their light brown body navigates around the fruiting bodies of slime molds amongst the moss. The snails’ shell is a circular spiral of black and gold bands that chase each other to the middle point. This little snail seems portly proud to find such a prize. One wonders where they might be taking it.A Prize on a slight angle so that the white enamelled, metal jar lid can be seen in depth. The lip of the lid makes a miniature shadow box for the little painting.

Fog Caller 6x6” 2022 Glass, cotton rag paper, watercolour, gouache, tracing paper, linen thread, wire, and patina
The painting Fog Caller on a black background. The piece is a clear, beveled glass window with a thin solder frame holding a painting of a great blue heron stalking among the stars with a ladle full of fog (some think she carries a smoking pipe, it could appear that way, though she isn’t smoking). A twirling ribbon of fog dances away from the ladle and around the heron. She pulls her wings up, half stretched, and steps with one grey foot while the other is firmly planted. She fans her broad tail downward. There are small golden stars of many shapes all around her. Her long beak deftly hold the ladle and she point her eye back at us. We might feel judged if it didn’t seem like she has more concern for fog-ladle task… but she does.Fog Caller on a black background at an angle to show the bevel of the glass and the swirling white details in the fog.Fog Caller on a white background, straight on. In this version the contrast of the solder frame’s patina stands out. Two oval rings sit at the top quarter of the glass circle across from each other and anchor a rust coloured linen thread that loops back and forth between the two. The linen thread has a three piles of knots, reminiscent of some improvised nautical technique. Against the whole background, the rustiness in the herons legs and the warm yellow of her beak sing.

Are they listening to the same song or is it just lining up?
Cat friend nods her chin up and she feels the music with her ears and tail perked. She steps with her feet and swishes with her arms. She's early fall cozy in her hoodie with the striped hood, denim vest, heavy velvet knee-length skirt, fishnets and hiking boots. She's got her blue wireless headphones and her favourite cross-body fish bag (she sewed it herself). The crow friend twists and shimmies as she kicks up water and fans her feather-fingers. She's wearing her big denim coat with the faux-fur-lined sleeves, plaid shorts, and pink foam slides: truly an early fall outfit. Her backpack is full of rolled papers and red sticks(she's coming home from art school) and she's got four buttons and pins on her coat. A tiny patch repairs a spot on her coat pocket.A sketchbook open on a desk: one page is dark sand, the other is a bright coral. Painted across the spread are two friends with headphones, dancing in puddles. The one on the left is a crow with her backpack full of papers and sticks. The one on the right is a cat dancing like she's swimming in the air. Both friends are eyes-closed grooving, splashing around and humming a tune (something like dee-da-dee). I wonder if it's a coincidence or they planned it.
