Incredible. Fucking incredible. The operatic fantasy of it all. 😭😭 God I love it. I can’t wait to see more of Ahsoka & Sabine. Can’t wait for more Baylan. I love everything we’re doing with Anakin. Ezra & Zeb reunited at last! So much to chew on here. It *looks* great too. youtu.be/Fdar7gTQnog?...

I love any opportunity to talk about Star Wars, but it’s even better when I get to talk about Star Wars and fairy tales. Many thanks to Reactor for helping me bring this essay into being! 💛🗡️🐋

(which had been my most anticipated book of 2024). Such a good year of reading; I read so much that shaped my thoughts and perspectives in ways I couldn’t have anticipated. We’ll see if I fit in a few more before the end of the year, but I’m already looking forward to 2025’s list 💛

I was working on an essay about the Percy Jackson series and nostalgia, so I read a lot of Riordan in the first half of the year. Then I read a lot of Didion in the fall — just because. My favorite book of the year, though, was unsurprisingly @kellylink.bsky.social’s The Book of Love ♥️🌕

The stats: I read 34 books this year (including two zines — they count!!) which was more than last year but fewer than I would have liked. 59% of these were fiction, and 91% were new to me.

This sums it up perfectly. It’s not a conversation.

Council of Elrond? More like Chamber of Echo! They could have invited a Ringwraith to the conversation, we're just asking questions about Shire and Baggins, but not these woke Elves! Oh no, they just BLOCKED us at the Ford of Bruinen—
