Q for scholars of the Dutch empire & decolonization: a friend's father spent the 1950s in Papua New Guinea where he recorded the last stages of Dutch rule. Would any institutions or scholars be interested in several hours of film footage, once digitized? Looking for a good home for these materials.

Another really lame BBC piece by @vanessabusch.bsky.social who once again fails to name Venezuela's largest world oil reserves as primary reason for Trump's action. Immigration and drugs are listed high. Why can the main cause not be stated openly? It's obvious to the rest of us, why not the BBC?

Among yesterday's arrestees is Deborah Hinton, an 81-year old retired magistrate with an OBE. That's Yvette Cooper's idea of a terrorist. Language has been turned on its head. The law has been turned on its head. Murdering children is righteous. Trying to stop it is terrorism.
