No idea who fell first, but #RPTan confessed first. He did the whole "dying love confession" thing after being stabbed 20 times. It worked. They're engaged now. "My existence is many things, but it is not miserable." #wolaotd

#WoLTan isn't bothered by flying, and usually just kinda guides without necessarily steering. Hell, usually he just walks. Don't let #RPTan drive. Don't put him on a boat. Maybe airship. He doesn't tend to like Transportation, but that's the trust issues stacking with his blindness. #wolaotd

Tall, but he's a late bloomer. As in "he didn't have his last growth spurt until his mid 20s". Why? Because his deadbeat dad was Olkund, but his mother was Dotharl. So Tol but not 10 feet tol. tbh he doesn't think too much about it until someone Isn't Short in his eye. #WoLTan #RPTan

A bonus #gpose this morning. I woke up early and part of my brain said "backlit stabby elf lady" #AltanXIV #GPosers #Elezen #ElezenHours

An fair-skinned elezen woman with black hair with red highlights. She's facing away from the camera, with a ruby red Edenmorn Twinfang slung over her shoulder. She's wearing the Neo-Ishgardian Top of Fending dyed wine red, and is backlit to create an uneven ruby red outline of her body against the black background. All the color except red have been removed.

"No, Thancred, I *don't* know why it has to be me doing this." Sometimes I wish this game would let us go "wtf no????" Thankfully, Altan can be sneaky too. #WoLTan #AltanMSQ #AltanXIV #Gpose #Gposers #AuRa #Xaela #Thanalan

Altan in a low crouch with his back to the camera as he hides to watch an Amalj'aa archer walk by. He's lit from the side by warm torch light and from above by cool moonlight.

Altan kneeling by some boxes and an empty cage in the Amalj'aa camp, inspecting a coil of rope. He's barely lit in the front by warm torch light.

Altan reaching out to the queer leaflet he found in an Amalj'aa camp. He's lit in warm torch light and cool moonlight.

#RPTan has a bench in Coerthas next to a patch of overgrowth. Don't go in the overgrowth. Everything in there is fair game. #WoLTan likes flying up to the tops of the spires in Ishgard and hiding out up there. No one else can really bother him or thinks to look for him that high up. #wolaotd

#WoLTan 's... conflicted. A mixture of grief and relief. Especially later into MSQ, he felt like people used him as a weapon more than a person. Now the weapon is "broken" and he can finally retire to some degree. The boredom sets in quick though.

No need to apologize, #RPTan already died once and loved every borrowed moment with the love of his life. Also if the food isn't cute (eg. finger sandwiches shaped like kittens) then whoever executed his will is going to need an executor themselves soon. Make the food cute! #wolaotd

#WoLTan: All of them. Why? Because it feels like a day off. #RPTan: accidentally did a bit of generic engineering to make a pretty flower for his partner, tries to eat every plant in sight, probably has an encyclopedic knowledge of plants that would be concerning if it were anyone else #wolaotd

#RPTan: technically engaged twice. He thinks the first one is dead though. Proply about 35 years between relationships. #WoLTan: same dead fiancé as RPTan, started dating G'raga in EW, but they broke up in post-EW and he's been single ever since. Altan's demiromantic #wolaotd

#WoLTan: do not discuss current events. Literally anything else. Watch him light up talking about plants though. #RPTan: Hey remember the time I got possessed by a voidsent and that's how we found out I don't need things like breathing? Wild time. Anyway-- #wolaotd

#WoLTan quietly keeps an eye on the new guy for signs of trouble but tbh? He's *hoping* someone's replaced him. He's prepared for a very long con or a cruel joke from the universe, but finally, saving the world is someone else's fucking problem for once. #wolaotd

Scion of the Seventh Dawn. He got an outfit change for joining the Scions! #WoLTan #AltanMSQ #Gpose #Gposers #AuRa #Xaela

Altan leaning against the wall, with an open book in one hand while he looks towards the bookshelf he's standing next to. He's in a long, brown leather coat with a ruffled white collar, sleek black pants, and brown leather boots. His Dotharl bow is still prominently on his back.

#RPTan: Nearest greenhouse. All the time. No he won't leave. He lives there now. The plants are telling him about their day. His fiancé brought him dinner. His kid showed up to show him what he learned in his pictomancy class that day. #WoLTan? Probably a hardware store. In the greenhouse.

#WoLTan very very very very rarely makes eye contact. If he chooses to make direct eye contact, you're about to die. Start running. #RPTan is blind, so if he makes eye contact with someone, it's on accident and he can't tell. He has a weird knack for staring down cameras though. #wolaotd

I made these instead of NG+ing more. There's about 4 more pages where that came from. My hand hurts 😅 #ffxiv #AltanMSQ #WoLTan

More of Altan's journal notes of his character's thoughts throughout MSQ, including the end of the Scion section. They read as follows:

Scion (continued).
Altan doesn't immediately agree to join the Scions because he wants more information on them. He does not have retainers because he likes doing stuff himself. Physically talking is also not natural for him.

Altan recognizes the good will (such as retainers and getting the password), however these don't hold much weight with him. He spends a few weeks doing odd jobs and getting to know them. he also tests the extent of their goodwill a lot, including using Scion influence and resources to start learning sign language.

Altan is wary, but not untrusting. "We Scions have but one objective: to safeguard the future of Eorzea." That is the line that gets Altan to join.

His outfit changes when he joins the Scions. He's no long representing Gridania, and picks something more suited to the variety and intensity of work with the Scions. It's lightly armored, with closed-toed boots, and more pockets. He still has his Dotharl bow and necklace.

At the bottom is the red header for the next section titled "Ifrit's Bane", and the page below it is blank.

Grey looking like his usual self as he smugly says "Maybe I make standard gposes, but...at least I don't use Al."

#RPTan never truly shakes guilt, but he's learned how to comfortable live, coexist, and grow from it. #WoLTan *really* has a hard time shaking guilt. It sits in his chest and even by ARR he's forgotten what it's like without the weight. #wolaotd

"It is an unquenchable thirst for the unknown that drives us into the wilds time and again." - Isildaure, outside of Sastasha Seagrot #AltanMSQ #AltanXIV #WoLTan #Gpose #AuRa #Xaela

Altan crouches next to a rock wall, looking into the main, brightly-colored cavern of Sastasha.

Altan searches through barrels and sacks stored in Sastasha.

#RPTan, probably while eating some random Coerthan plant to see what happens: *is an occasionally corpse-temp frost lizard that lives in Coerthas.* "If you are cold enough you might bleed to death slower." #WoLTan: "Oh people generally do not like the cold? Sign me up."

#RPTan 's trust is slow to earn and easy to lose. There's a certain level of trust where he'll allow the benefit of doubt, but most people don't get that tbh. #WoLTan? Pretty guarded, but usually willing to go along with whatever's going on until he gets a reason not to.

Since NG+ing *all* of MSQ, and specifically not speedrunning it, is a pretty long project already... I did set some ground rules for myself. #AltanMSQ The general rule is "does this tell the story I want to tell about Altan at this point".

Big project lately has been basically rewriting my WoL's lore from scratch via NG+. Taking my time with MSQ, gposing the fuck out of everything, and doing a lot of yapping about MSQ and shit. So expect a *lot* of that around here. #WoLTan Plus some RP-related gposes/writing if I want #RPTan
