And can you blame Palestinians for not wanting to end like the Biafrans or Kashmiri? Biafra’s fight against Nigerians forces was as brutal and merciless as the 1947 war. Kashmiri are still fighting India in a vicious guérilla/terror warfare.

The difference with third world nations is that these managed to get some modicum of decolonisation, thanks to Western colonial powers eventually leaving them be. Palestine never obtained from Israel what South Africa or Morocco got from Anglos or French.
110
Jean-Baptiste Perrin @alphast.bsky.social · 16/06/2026
Indeed. The only difference between their own local “terrorist”, I mean, resistance movements, and the PLO is that the PLO lost and they won.
100
Jean-Baptiste Perrin @alphast.bsky.social · 16/06/2026
And, conversely, can we blame Palestinians for opposing since 1947 the colonisation of their lands, cities, homes or holy sites by a people imported from another continent? Even if this opposition has come with inexcusable crimes as well?
110
Jean-Baptiste Perrin @alphast.bsky.social · 16/06/2026
That’s certainly true. But that doesn’t justify the ethnic cleansing of the last decades by Israel, nor the colonialism, nor the random slaughters, nor the routine assassinations of journalists, children, healthcare workers or first responders by Tsahal. Or the jailing without trial of activists…
000
Jean-Baptiste Perrin @alphast.bsky.social · 16/06/2026
I don’t say that: I only contend that there is no moral high ground by Israel in this conflict. And no less terrorism, actually more in raw numbers.
110
Jean-Baptiste Perrin @alphast.bsky.social · 16/06/2026
Not unnatural of course, like all war crimes. They are usually the reaction to an event or series of events, exploited by authorities or ideologists to stir hatred and revenge. But that’s no excuse. And said war crimes, which largely predate the 7/10 trauma, could legitimate an EU ban or boycott.
120
Jean-Baptiste Perrin @alphast.bsky.social · 16/06/2026
All of this applies to Palestinians as well. And in much higher numbers. By a factor 100 or 1000.
120
Jean-Baptiste Perrin @alphast.bsky.social · 16/06/2026
I would even contend that, due to the disparity of means, Israeli state terrorism is far more “efficient” in the level of killing, terror and destruction or disruption it creates and inflicts on Palestinians and Bedouins alike.
161
Jean-Baptiste Perrin @alphast.bsky.social · 16/06/2026
But what you wrote applies also word for word to the Israeli side. Regardless of how “democratic” they are, they are no less bent into the physical elimination of Palestine (by killing or displacing) as Hamas is into destroying Israel (by the exact same means).

Blatant breach of even the IDFs own rules of engagement without any remorse or acknowledgement. Doesn't even claim the targets posed a danger, just that it's "a ‘combat zone’ where any man of military age was ‘marked for death’."
The recovery of dead bodies is protected under international law. The Israeli military’s own regulations also stipulate that people collecting bodies are not legitimate targets, according to former soldiers and Asa Kasher, who co-authored the Israeli Defense Forces’ ethics code.

“If you see someone recovering a body or helping a wounded person, that’s a rescue operation, it should be respected,” Kasher said. “Someone like that should not be shot.”
