I played enough games that were bad but tolerable that I ended up going "do I even LIKE playing TTRPGs? Is putting so much of myself in this thing that sucks worth it?" And that alone was enough to get me to really internalise the latter"

An Art Fight attack I did for my friend artfight.net/~geckomancer of her character Beetle because she's super cute and stuff and I like how it turned out

A mother trying to comb her daughter's hair. The mother looks perplexed at all the leaves and twigs that have somehow wound up in her child's hair.

My advice to young artists is that ESPECIALLY as a young artist you have so much to learn about yourself and the world and what you like about the process and what your favourite things are, and if you do a little bit of everything you will figure out what you love more than anything else

You would put your weapon in the Gear Slot. If you upgrade it later, you can write in any Abilities, Motifs, etc. it gets in their respective rows

If it's not obvious, I clearly like Homestuck. But more than that, I really like games, and I'd like to exist in the space again. And the only way to do that... is to like, talk to people and interact! So I appreciate any of y'all that check it out! I think there's something special in it!

Just like Heroic Chord, it's got a wild improvised magic system where you take words from your own spell list and combine them with ones from your surroundings, but there's also other things! A universal encounter system, combined abilities via Duets, a somewhat silly crafting system, etc!

It's 4/13 Homestuck day so here's some art I was arting with Fire Emblem Awakening as the reference

The four initial main characters from Homestuck all brandishing weapons and falling from the sky, with an additional ghostly version of its main character flying up in the opposite direction. The piece is arranged similar to the Fire Emblem Awakening box art. Text on the left reads "Thanks for playing".

Getting back into wrestling and I watched TJPW Grand Princess and was instantly enamoured with Hyper Misao. Her last showdown with Yuka Sakazaki was so dramatic! The whole match swung from hilarious to epic, everyone was so cool! So I had to make fanart of her at least, she's fabulous!

A drawing of Hyper Misao, a Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestler. Her costume includes a mask covering the top half of her face with a big M on it, and a sparkly pink and green cape, along with a green top and baggy pants.

This, by the way, is why rest is so important. When you create, you attach emotional expectations to your work. You can't look at it objectively. You NEED time and distance to come back and thoughtfully evaluate why something works/needs improvement. Constant art makes you a worse artist.

Gosh. I LIKED my dad. I wished he didn't still think we lived in dictator era times where it was illegal for women to wear fucking trousers but I still thought that he would want to actually TRY understand his kids. But he's always been like this, it just feels worse now I'm vaguely girl-shaped.

010

Daemon Soup @alphabetsauce.bsky.social · 03/04/2026

It double sucks because I never told her I was trans because she was dying and I didn't want to stress her or everyone else while she was still sick, and she STILL clocked me as some flavour of queer in the last letter she wrote to me and was the more reasonable parent so that shit fucking stings.

110

Daemon Soup @alphabetsauce.bsky.social · 03/04/2026

He brought up how he's worried people will say he can't control his kids without his wife now and like. My mum died last September, this is recent shit. What the fuck reaction did he think that would get?

110

Daemon Soup @alphabetsauce.bsky.social · 03/04/2026

Nevermind that when he's not around I'm actually out and talking to people as myself and actually have a social life now and apart from standard misogyny in places I've been fine, like, no real problems, both when presenting fem and masc.

110

Daemon Soup @alphabetsauce.bsky.social · 03/04/2026

Dude flipped out and went on a whole tangent about his reputation and how it will look for him and how uncomfortable it makes him feel. I kinda expected him to do the thing my sister did of how I could get hurt in this horribly queerphobic country or something but he didn't care.

110

Daemon Soup @alphabetsauce.bsky.social · 03/04/2026

My dad has not liked the fact that I'm acting more fem, by virtue of being trans and not telling his homophobic ass. We already got into a fight because he thinks I'm like, a gay man or something, which would have sucked if I was but is worse as I'm just a gay woman instead. Then I got braids.

110

Daemon Soup @alphabetsauce.bsky.social · 03/04/2026

It was diabolical, and he was shocked I got genuinely angry too like I was supposed to swallow my tongue like always.

120

Daemon Soup @alphabetsauce.bsky.social · 03/04/2026

My dad tried to use my dead mother as a talking point about how if I look to fem people will think he "can't control his children" without his wife and I've never lost all respect for someone so fast in my entire life. The transphobia and misogyny is SECONDARY to how vile that was in context.
