the anti-malware industry does nothing other than erode consumer trust by flagging open source projects with verifiable builds as "malware" with their ML heuristics really shouldn't be a game of programming in some lucky hard-to-figure-out way to have people not get big red warnings using anything

i am such a huge fan of how lazy anti-virus vendors are and how my *open source dotnet* projects can still be getting 39/72 detections on virustotal despite being verifiably clean.

Emulator Inaccuracy: the Xbox One's Xbox 360 backwards compatibility will loopback its own broadcast packets to itself where a real 360 won't. this manifests as Portal 2's System Link menu showing yourself as a joinable game and basically nothing else (also I made Wireshark dissector for Xbox)

Screenshot of Portal 2 on the Xbox 360 (via an Xbox One) on the "Play System Link" screen, which shows one joinable game with the gamertag InvoxiPlayGames. In front of the game UI there are two Wireshark windows, showing the LanSearch broadcast packet from a MAC address belonging to Microsoft and then a GameSessionInfo response from the same MAC address.

Wild how some people on discord see fit to randomly add you as a friend having never even once interacted with you just to ask you for help in DMs when they could easily just ask their question in any one of many channels in the very server this is happening in. And to top it off, they DM "hello."

augh, why do developers at AAA studios keep "streamlining" progression mechanics??? guys. player agency is like, the entire point of a video game. when you do this, you gain very little accessibility at the expense of everything interesting about the game. aughhhhhh

people need to unlearn the idea that small talk is a waste of time or a sign of not trying. sometimes you don't know what to say but want to just say hi to show you're still there and that your friend is on your mind. everyone is seeking something to break the ice so badly that they're giving up

seeing Imminence sell out at almost all their concert locations for their tour is so cool😭 love this band and im so glad to see them doing so well

Email from Imminence:

Selling out Inselpark Arena in Hamburg and Palladium in Cologne is an overwhelming milestone for us. Ten years ago, we played our first shows in these cities to crowds of barely thirty people. Some of those very fans have stayed with us ever since—supporting us, believing in us, and growing with us along this journey.

To now return with the biggest headline shows Imminence has ever performed feels nothing short of extraordinary. It’s a powerful way to close the chapter of The Black album and pay tribute to where it all began a decade ago. We are deeply grateful, and we can’t wait to share these unforgettable nights with everyone.
