This article sums up what is wrong with Canadian media. It is entirely focussed on how this leaked info about no oil pipeline making it on the first project list will disappoint Alberta, how it’s maybe about catering to the progressive vote. Not a mention of the total lack of economic case for one.

Is it me or did PM Carney's first press conference about priorities just largely ignore the climate crisis? I heard one mention of environment, when mentioning housing. Nothing about putting a stop to energy waste which means money wasted? Nothing about jobs and local revenue through clean energy?

I've read at least 5 pieces about how "climate and the environment" are being ignored this election. Here's why that framing is wrong and mostly unhelpful: First, lumping climate and environment in 1 category is a mistake, and even using those terms when surveying Canadians is unclear at best. 1/

It's concerning that any funds still go to fossil fuel projects. We need to act on energy poverty with urgency, and doing so should be through low-cost renewable energy - not fossil fuels which cost us our health, our climate stability, and so much more.
