Three years ago we were finalising a report led by our colleagues in Gaza on gender based violence and cultural methodologies. We’d already experienced 5 ‘wars’ together in 15 years, and extreme cuts to research through ODA GCRF. Turns out that was a prelude to the genocide unleashed days later

12 years ago there was nothing like The National. Now there is a pro-independence paper that cares deeply about issues of equality and fairness, and tries to show the world what Scotland is really about - not the doom-laden versions that have dominated the media for decades

This is a dreadful argument from Burnham. Empirically false - almost 6m people were granted settled status; about 4m are currently resident. More importantly panders to racism/xenophobia, and directly contradicts argument made in his speech about migrant contributions.
