250 years ago, our Founders declared independence based on the radical idea that all men are created equal and endowed with unalienable rights, including life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. This July 4, let us commit to continuing to fight for that American Dream for the next 250 years.

Happy Independence Day. We're celebrating the anniversary of our nation, conceived in liberty, and dedicated to the proposition - however incompletely realized - that all men are created equal.

250 years ago, our founders pledged everything to a single idea. A government that answers to the people. America has never belonged to any one man, and it never will. Happy Independence Day. The American experiment continues, and it’s ours to defend.
