Word of the day is ‘hingum-tringum’: 19th-century Scots for feeling feeble or barely presentable, and just about hanging together.

Thought it was an early Mother's day card....but no...see you soon @altontowers.bsky.social

Hand drawn card with 'not long....' written above some track and lights

Inside of the card reads '...until theme park season' and has a drawing of Rita a ride at Alton Towers (of which my son isn't that big of a fan but said it was easier to draw than Smiler)

READING FOR PLEASURE has such a powerful impact on kids, it should be at the heart of everything you do with them, every single day. Always show how them how much YOU love books. Read books to them, talk about books with them, help them find books to love - and it will change their lives! #literacy

Why do books matter so much? Because books can open eyes & hearts & minds. They can show us the world in a different light, helping us imagine other lives. Books can connect us, bringing us together, building bridges in a world of walls. They are the greatest empathy engines ever invented. #BookSky

Saw someone upbraiding someone else for having a hobby while the world is on fire, and, my friends: 1. The world is ever on fire, this is today's conflagration; 2. If you don't find time for rest and joy the fire will consume you; 3. Don't let people shame you for being an entire human.

I don't think I've properly introduced it over here, but I started the #EmptyQueueProject to share my photos of empty themed areas. Now people send me theirs to share the magic of having somewhere all to yourself. Feel free to post your own, and see more here: www.robyeodesign.com/emptyqueueproject

When you ask people about the books that changed their lives, they almost always mention a children's book. They're the books that make us readers, shape us at the deepest levels, and stay with us FOREVER. That's why I think children's books are the most important books of all! #kidlit #books
