my Sunday #poetry book for this week: ox lost, snow deep by @aliceburdick.bsky.social
the lovely cover of the poetry book 'ox lost, snow deep' by Alice Burdick. The top third is solid blue, the bottom two thirda white. An image of an ox is at the top of the white portion. A few inches below that is the title of the book in a cursive font, below that the word 'poems' also in a cursive font. The author's name, in caitql letters, closer to the bottom.

2) This was the 1st of my 6 books to have ever been listed for any poetry awards. Ox made it to the longlist for the Raymond Souster Award too. I’m a poetry lifer, at it since the early 90s, writing without awards in mind & will continue. But it’s a nice encouragement for this aging poet. 🐂❄️

1) I’m so grateful that Ox Lost, Snow Deep was so deeply read & felt by the jury of the Maxine Tynes Nova Scotia Poetry Award. This citation almost made me cry. Congratulations to Cory Lavender, who won the award, & to Annick MacAskill, also on the shortlist.
