btw Artists using microblogging services (like this one, or X™, Mastodon, etc.) as their primary gallery has been a disaster for art preservation. While I'm up for debate on whether it's moral to bless the world with your artwork before just nuking it, even browsing alone is really inconvenient. 🤕

If an artist's gonna go around the web taking down "reposts" I'll begrudgingly respect it (even if it goes against what I believe the internet should be). But putting into the TOS that commissioners cannot alter, or sometimes even share artwork they paid for without approval is «really» pushing it…

No seriously, go hear this stream. Other than it being extremely important (for EU citizens) it also shows who's who and for what they stand, and is overall informative for everybody. While it'll affect gamedev, it very much transcends just video games and is essentially a crash course in politics.

From what I've seen thus far a lot of the earlier cover art for "Analog science fiction and fact" from the '60s/'70s is quite magnificent. Especially ones featuring alien creatures, or abstract phenomena. BUT I'm not buying a $9.99 subscription to flick through 60+ years old pulp. That's just… 😒

Great piece of writing on Vampire Survivor and the rise of gambling in games and culture. It depresses me that the 2D action genre has fallen into this pattern where so much of it is about random chance and builds now, rather than moment to moment play, learning and gaining skill.
